nintendofreak92 Blog

Well.....hello

To whoever might be reading this....I just started a blog, called Casual-core, and it would be great if some of you could please visit from time to time and spread the word. I'm going to try and put a lot of time into it so stick with me on it!!!

Casual-core blog

Hey guys im back!!

I decided to come back to visiting gamespot everyday and taking part in forum discussions. It's no secret that gamespot has been an absolute mess these past couple of months and thats one of the big reasons I have hesitated to come back. We lost not one, not two, but three of gamespots biggest reveiwers. I will really REALLY miss Ryan Davis as he always brought great humor to On The Spot. Im sure the show will stil be great...but not as great as before. Since the last time I blogged, I got an Xbox 360 for the holidays. Im am still a very huge Nintendo fan and it will always stay that way. The reason I got 360 was because the game BioShock really looked amazing and got very good reveiw scores and I wanted to play the game so badly. When I got the game, I was not dissapointed at all...it was just what I expected and then some. I also have got Call of Duty 4, Rock Band, and Turok...the only one im not pleased with it Turok, dont get it. I also have benn filling up my Wii and DS library with very good games. On the Wii side of things I have benn playing Super Mario Galaxy, Medal of Honor Heroes 2 and No More Heroes. On the DS the only new game that has really really been amazing is Professor Layton and the Curious Village. GET IT. It challenging, fun, and has one of the best storylines so far on the DS. Im really looking forward to, of course, Super Smash Brothers Brawl for Wii. Also some other Wii titles I am excited about are Okami, Mario Kart Wii, and Wii Fit. For DS I am looking forward to Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword and I think the title I am most excited for right now more that any other title on any system is The Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brother Hood. This game looks kick ass. Well, I'll probably be blogging once a week, maybe a little more or maybe a little less, so leave some comments!!

E307: Sony Conference and closing thoughts

Well I do have to say...Sony brought in the big guns as-well. Heavanley Sword looks really good. The live Killzone 2 demo was amazing also. It was hard to belive it was real time gameplay. Also, even though everyone knew it was coming, the newly redigned PSP looked nice. I liked the option to watch and play UMD's on your tv. The Star Wars Edition was really cool also and I liked the Darth Vader on the back!! The 2 First-Party games that I think look the coolest is the new Ratched and Clank game and LittleBigPlanet!! This 2 games, and also Lair, might just convince me to get a PS3, especialy with the new $100 price drop. I kind of disapointed that they didnt do a live demo of LittleBigPlanet but Gamespot had a live demo of it and the game looks absolutley amazing! I think I like it so much because I am such a big fan of the animal crossing series.

In the end I think the Sony Conference was really cool with some surprises. Nintendo was kinda boring but there were a lot of surprises like Wii Fit. This game looks cool for like mini-games and stuff like that but I dont think I will be doing the whole work out thing too much considering I have like a 6-pack and im skinny as a twig:P Microsoft really didnt grab me in that much. If you ask Halo just isnt as popular as it used to be. I think its getting kind of old and people who are only intrested in the game for the on-line are going to relize they are getting almost the same game everytime with reved up graphics and some new features. I thought that at the end of console wars Microsoft and Nintendo would come out on top and Sony would be left out in the dust. This could still happen in the end but Sony deffinitly has a chance now. LittleBigPlannet could be very popular with the familys and most of Sony's sales always came from the first-party games that they developed and they showed off a bunch of huge first-party titles at E3. Well now that all the maddness is over we can finally relax and wait till Tokyo Game Show which will hopefully bring some big surprises as well!!

E307: Nintendo and Microsoft Press Conference Reactions

I stayed up untill 11:30 last night to watch the Microsoft Press Conference live. To tell you the truth I was not impressed at all. The trailers were nice but I think they need some other big surprise. They also should have showed a Banjo 3 trailer. Mass Effect looks amazing and so does Asasianns Creed!! The demonstration of Rock Band was absolutley amazing I thought. But as far as the other "musical" preformences go....they were not needed, such as the cheezy Halo 3 music in the begging of the conference they never ended. The new game Scene It for Xbox 360 looked kind of dumb. The newly designed controller for it looked like a todlers teething toy or something. You tell right from the beggining of the conference they were trying to copy Nintendo by gearing their system more for children and people of all ages. I thought the funniest part of the whole thing was when they annouced the new kind of 360, the Halo 3 one, and almost no one claped. They expected a huge applause and cheering but instead no one was really intrested! Now, on to Nintendo!!! I just got done watching it and all I can say is WOW. There were some let downs throughout the show but Nintendo deffinitly delivered!!!! I wish they would have show more game trailers for Brawl and Galaxy and maybe even BWii but we didnt get any game trailers of that sort. They kept bragging about how they were #1 right now which became annoying at points but the little videos were pretty cool and funny at points!! I could not belive that they dated Mario Galaxy AND Brawl at the conference. With both of them having December release dates they are sure to be heavy holiday hitters. Also I was very excited when they annoced on-line for Guitar Hero 3: Legends of Rock!!! This game is going to be awsome. I was also blown away at the new Wii Zapper. This thing looks crazy and we even got to see it in action. The game Ghost Squad from Sega is looking too bad now! I also cant wait to try it out on The Resident Evil games!! The 2 biggest surprises of the show came straight from 2 of their biggest franchises, The Mario Kart series and the "Wii games serries" such as Wii play and Wii sports. First off...MARIO KART LOOKS AMAZING!!! The new tarcks looked so crazy and this entry into the series will deffinitly be a new experience. Now...Wii Fit looks like it could be Nintendos fastest selling and most popular game of all time or at least for the Wii. The pad that you stand on in absolutey insane and the activities that there are to do it the game look like a lot of fun like the one where you head soccer balls by just moving your body!! Well, lets hope that Nintendo keeps the surprises coming the rest of the week as they always do. The Sony press conference starts in just a few minutes. Hope there will be some big surprises there also!!

Life is good...for once, and one more day of school!!

Well just for the record I got my wii back and DS back about a month ago cause my grades went up! School is also almost over..TOMORROW not to metion and Im really excitted. I have a big party to go to right after school and then the friday next friday is my [new] girlfriends party. We got in a kind of a fight last week but we solved it out and now we are much closer. I also picked up RESIDENT EVIL 4-Wii Edition yesterday. Its hands down the best game for the wii that I own right now. And for some reason...the graphics look better on the wii version and the wide-screen setup is very nice. Its just a cleaner picture...or maybe its just me:roll: Super Paper Mario come in a close second though. Also this tuesday will mark my first ever purchase of a sports game (besides the Mario sports games)....The BIGS for wii. Baseball is my favorite sport to watch and I'm a big yankkes fan also. When I first saw this trailer I liked the way the visuals looked and the special effects look pretty cool, and I like the arcade feel to it. Well..this summer is going to be a busy one. Soccer practice for high school in preperation of next season starts in about 2 weeks and then I also have a job baby sitting these 2 boys who are 4 and 5 years old for about 4 days a-week, and I'll be making a lot of Cash $;) Well here is to my last blog as an 8th grader [finnaly!].

Heres my story that I entered in the gamespot contest

Hope you enjoy it I put a lot of work into it---Hope I win!!!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Amy! Watch out!" Jack screamed out at Jack as a monster wave almost washed him away. Amy ran over to Jack to see if he was okay as he fell onto the beaches shoreline.

"Are you okay Jack?" said Amy.

"What happened and where are we?" said Jack.

"Our boat split in half and I think we both passed out. Do you remember anything?"

   "I just remember blacking out."

Both Amy and Jack had no clue where they were. All they could do was explore and try to discover where they have ended up. What they didn't know was the adventure they were about to embark on.

"So where are we?" asked Jack.

"Your guess is as good as mine." said Amy."

"Lets try to find out where we are and see if we can find food." said Amy.

"Yea I'm really hungry." Jack quickly replied.

So the two young explorers went around the island looking for any signs of life or for any food. They both took different paths around the beach.

  "Jack help!" yelled Amy.

Jack ran to where Amy was on the beach and saw that she was captured and stuck in a net.

"I'll get you out hold on" yelled Jack.

Then all of a sudden these two people jumped out and screamed words in another language. The only word Jack could make out was "Fiji"

"Amy," said Jack, "I think we are on Fiji Island."

Then the weak net broke and Amy fell. The two adventures now knew where they were and knew what they were dealing with.

Jack and Amy decided that they probably weren't going to get off Fiji Island any time soon so they made camp. Jack got branches for the shelter and Amy got coconuts and fruit from the tropical trees that surrounded the island. As Amy was climbing the tree a Fiji tribe member that had confronted them earlier appeared and started yelling at her. She could not make out what he was saying but heard the words "King" and "Fiji". She decided to follow the tribe member. As they walked through the jungle the tribe member continued to speak in his unique language. Out of no where a big looking tree fort appeared right in front of her eyes. It was the Fiji King's home and throne. Then Amy looked up and saw Jack tied up next to the King.

"Hold on Jack, I'll save you."

Their biggest challenge now would be how they were going to survive on Fiji Island and how they were going to get a long with the Fiji tribe members. But who exactly were these people and why were Amy and Jack being watched and held captive. What did they want with these two adventures? Only their travels could answer these questions now.

Im stranded with no Wii untill the end of the school year.

Well to start things off on a really bad note....I GOT MY WII AND MY DS TAKEN AWAY UNTILL THE END OF THE SCHOOL YEAR:evil: My mom flipped on me just because I got a D on a science test and cause she got an e-mail from my S.S. teacher saying I turned a project in a day late. She usally isnt this cruel with her punishments so I'm not sure why this all of a sudden. Thank god she still lets me go out with my friends, I'm not sure what I would do with out them of the rest of the school year, lol. When everyone in my house was fighting and screaming I would go downstairs and play Wii and try to ignore it all. It was like my only place to escape to in the house. Life isnt fair:cry: I almost beat Super Paper Mario also. Im on the last chapter.

Also I'm not sure how many of you heard about the Lost in Blue 2 writing contest here on gamespot that I mentioned a while ago. The contest ended April 20th and I submitted a story that I worked really hard on. The most it could be was 500 words so I had to narrow it down:? Ill post it in a few days since there is no copying/pasting in firefox so ill have to re-type it:?

Bad News to Good News

As i said in my last blog I got Fall Out Boy tickets, 6th row might I add, for April 21st. My family was going down to florida for spring break and we were flying in on the 20th. So now the first few weeks of the honda civic tour is canceled if you havent heard, so now I wont be seeing them during spring break. But, now I got tickets for another show on June 6th thats near where I live, in New jersey so now I'm going to that one but im in like the back of the stadium but at least I will be seeing them.

On the bright side Super Paper Mario comes out tomorrow in stores so I'm excitied for that! I will post a review later this week for the game.

A lot of stuff latley...

I got Fall Out Boy tickets for the Honda Civic Tour a few weeks ago for april 21st!!! I'm so excited and with their new "Thanks for the Memories" video that is really popular right now on TRL is just getting me more pumped!!!

Also I bought Sonic Heroes and Star For Assault last week. These are 2 games that for whatever reason I didnt buy when they came out and now that they are cheaper and becoming harder to find I bought them. I've only played Star Fox so far and to tell you the truth its one of the best games I have ever played.

I also submited my Lost in Blue 2 story the other day and I worked hard on it. I will post it once the contest is over so people can read it. I hope I win!!

PSP=annoying

Well I was really excited about playing my 2 new PSP games and I was updating it to play the new games and it says update failed.. So then it has a spaz attack and shuts off. Then I left in it the charger so it would cool off and now its fully charged and it wont even turn on. I tried the games on my friends PSP and they are fun...but now I just need my PSP to work so I can play them. I e-mailed customer service and said they will get back to me within 24-48 hours. I hope they know what to do. Did anyone else ever have a problem like this with their PSP?
