2007: Top 3 Disappointments and Surprises

07 was a great year in gaming and music (if you like newer music that is >_>) but what stood out? First, my biggest disappointments of 07.

Top 3 Disappointments of 07

3. July 11th -13th- The new E3. SO many promises left unpromised. So many games left unshown. So mant disappointed fans. How could the sequel to the biggest gaming event in history be such a crappy media event that you wanted to punch a baby at it's awfulness? How? E306 was amazing, and nobody could have been even discontent with it with the exception of Mr. Jack Thompson. E3 07, you have ruined the greatest event for gamers everywhere. Thanks a lot.

2. May 15th- Linkin Park's first album in 3 years was finally released. 3 years I had been waiting for my favorite's band new album. Well I was slapped in the face with 3 years of disappointment. All but two songs were actual Linkin Park songs, the rest were some of the softest rock songs ever to be burned onto a CD. When I think of Linkin Park, I think of hard guitar riffs and heavy lyrics. The two songs that were actually Linkin Park songs were great, and give me hope that they might still be able to fix their mistake with thier nex album. Please, don't screw the next one up.

1. October 10th- Possibly the darkest day in gaming if the generation. Super Smash Bros. Brawl was delayed. The most anticipated Wii game from just about every single person on the planet, delayed. Nintendo, how could you delay what might be the final instalment in your greatest franchise? You were supposed to be the chosen one! Then you take a chunk of salt and rub it in my wound by announcing Sonic on the same day. Out of all the characters you chose to be in the game, you pick... Sonic. Why? Because the fans wanted him in? The fans wanted voice chat and leaderboards too, but I don't see you adding those in. Thanks a lot Nintendo.

Top 3 Surprises of 07

3. Super Mario Galaxy being as good as it is. I did ever suspect that Super Mario Galaxy would be so amazing. I had thought that it would barely scrounge up a 9.0 from Gamespot and maybe get a 90% on gamerankings or something. Instead, the game did not recieve anything below a 9 from any credible site and stands proudly on the Number 2 spot on gamerankings.com.

2. The Wii selling so well. Absolutely nobody thought the Wii would sell as well as it is.Barely over a year old and it has sold almost 17 million units. I find this amazing.

1. Pokemon Diamond and Pearl. After years of not playing any Pokemon games, I finally caved in and bought Pokemon Emerald on January 28th, the same day I acquired my Wii. I played Emerald for almost 3 months until Pokemon Diamond was released. I had no idea how great of a purchase this was for me. Over the span of two and a half months, I had over 200 hours of playtime, and I even started joining unions (PLU was the first, thanks to my bud heshemangirl). I had no idea one game, and a Pokemon game nontheless, could control my life so much.

What do you guys think? This is my personal list, so you don't have to agree.
