Agreed, the music plays the same melody over and over, leaving me wishing for more variation. The whole blocking/dodging thing is annoying, and the camera is disorienting sometimes when it all of a suddenly changes are you directional movements are abruptly switched. Great game though for a free library rental! hahaI liked the game in general.
It had a great setting and narrative structure, the gameplay was familiar too (for the genre) and easy to pickup most of the time. The graphics where good, and the music too.
On the cons i can think of, the music, while good, does not recapture the feeling of old games... its more orchestra oriented.
The camera, its a serious flaw, its not the fact that its static, but the way it switches around. Sometimes the changes are way too abrupt leading to an easy death. I think the programers should have been more careful with the positioning and transition of the cameras.
The combat, while familiar, its also somewhat complicated. Most of this is related to blockling/rolling, that you need to push down block to do. They could have just asignated that function to the right analog. Sometimes i try to block and end up rolling away, or viceversa.

In general its a solid game, but with some very basic flaws that manage to become really annoying on the long run.

I went to my local library to check out some books and realized they just got PS3 games in to rent FOR FREE! As a diehard fan of the old 2-D scrollers, I was hesitant on this release of Castlevania, but it surprised me. It has a God of War feel but the awesome gothic theme of Castlevania. Many of the reviews gave it a lower score because it felt too familiar, but if it's fun, it's fun. Any other thoughts on this game? (Which I felt was pushed aside by many due to average reviews)
