I don't know what chipset my mobo is, it says it's "unknown". + I have 2 pci-e slots and 2 pci slots. does this mean I can handle 2 hd3870s or not?

I'm considering getting 2, how good is it crossfired and how do you tell if your mobo can handle crossfire? better than an 8800gt, surely!

HD3870 has:

Microsoft DirectX 10.1 support

ATI CrossFireX Multi-GPU Technology

Hardware processed 1080p video playback of Blu-ray and HD DVDs

Whereas the 8800gt has:

GU/Memory clock: 650/900MHz

Does this mean the ATI card is better? It had GDDR4 & a lot morestream processing units. Thanks in advance!!!

SOME pre builds are okay, like with DELL you can choose which part to put in so that's ok if you're short on knowledge/time. Alienware looks cool but £2k for something I just bought for £500? No thanks, the casing isn't worth £1500!!!

My Dell Dimension E520 was fairly good at the time but I've transformed it into a monster ;) Building DIY style is more fun though, and cheaper. (I'd try it if it wasnt too late).

rip off prices. Every graphics card has them, 16 is a fairly normal amount.
