I've decided to add a new feature to my anime of the week and in case your a complete digit and didn't get it from the title it's manga of the week :P

This week both accolades are going to Elfen Lied.

This is for those of you who have never heard of it. Elfen Lied is about a girl called Lucy who is a Diclonius. A Diclonius are a species of evolved human life, for the most part they look exactly like a normal human with the only way to them apart from other humans is the fact that they horns growing out the top of their heads. Diclonius also have the use of invisible arms called vectors, these arms vary in amount and length with each Diclonius, Lucy has 4 vectors each 2 metres long.

Lucy escapes from the Lab where she is being held captive by using her vectors to kill the guards guarding the area where she is being held. She makes her way outside where she is shot in the head but is only delt minimum damage due to the fact she was wearing a helmet and falls into the sea. She is found by cousins Kohta and Yuka on a beach in Kamakura. Due to the wound she got from being shot, Lucy has developed a split personality and can only say "nyu" to begin with, due to this they decide to name her Nyu.She switches between Lucy and Nyu when hit on the head or faced with a dangerous situation. She goes to live with Kohta and Yuka in the house Kohta is living in.

I think that the story behind this anime/manga is awesome, it's very beautifully drawn and has a great soundtrack, I absolutely love it and it's definitely up there as one of my favourite anime's/manga's I've seen/read and I give it 10/10 ;) :D
