Thoughts on DLC

In not a fan of DLC... there I said it... I'm biased. I've purchased VERY little DLC over the past few years. I bought the shivering isles expansion, a dozen or so Rockband songs, and a few Halo map packs (for my wife) but that is it. Until recently I didn't REALLY have a problem with DLC. Most of it just wasn't worth purchasing. However, I'm growing increasing worried that game content is being intentially left out in order to nickle and dime customers. I first noticed this with Dragon age for the PC. The game LAUNCHED with downloadable expansions. This should NEVER happen. ALL of that content should have been included with the original game as it was obviously developed prior to the game being released.

Other questionable content has come down in great games like Bioshock 2, Assassins Creed 2, and other high profile games. I'm specifically speaking of the timing of the DLC. While it was not released at launch, it was released very shortly after. I can understand this to some extent. The content of the aformentioned DLC is fair at best. Perhaps they were cut from the original game and released later for hardcore fans.

Fanboys: Please Stop

I'm so sick of constantly reading rediculous comments left by ill-informed fanboys. Specifically SONY fanboys. I own ALL systems (except the DS) I've played almost ALL of the top tier games on both the PS3 and Xbox. The PS3 IS NOT SUPERIOR TO THE XBOX IN ANY WAY AS A GAMING MACHINE! If it is... show me the evidence. I have yet to play a game that could not have been done on the xbox. I'm tired of the Stop dumbing down the PS3 for the Xbox crap! Both systems are cappible of 99.8% of the same function. PC gaming is another matter. PC games ARE dumbed down for the PS3 and Xbox. Just because you chose one system over the other does make it inherently better. If you can't afford both systems you are missing great games no matter how you slice it.

Intro

Just writing something to fill in the space. I've been a hard-core gamer since 1985. I've owned most of the major consoles. I currently own ALL of the major consoles and have a dedicated Gaming PC.
