DEFINATELY. i am probably more excited about this game than any others coming out this year. Even more so than Gears of War 2, and i'm a huge Gears fan.

And apparently it's been banned in Germany, Japan, and China, so that's just like icing on the cake for me.

Go to the last system blade, choose display, choose resolution. Had same problem when I upgraded to HDTV. Felt silly when I finally realized what was wrong. Enjoy! :-)LenChante

when the a/v cable switch is set to "tv", it won't let me change the resolution. it just stays at 480p no matter what. and whenever i turn the a/v cable switch to "hdtv", to try and change the resolution, there's no video or audio.

if you have a hdmi port on your xbox then you should be using a hdmi cable anyways because you wont get 1080p out of your tv otherwise. and it will solve any of the problems seclecting between hd and not hd. if you connect via component then you should get a picture no matter which way the switch is. djrobst

no HDMI port on my xbox.

hey man i had the exact same problem u r having...i would switch my cables from tv to hdtv and i wouldnt get a picture.finally after trying everything i could i decided to go and buy some different cables, and to my surprise they worked perfectly.so im almost certain that it is your component cables.mrmoeone

but if it's just the hd cables, shouldn't i at least get audio? the audio works fine when i hook up the yellow/red/white to play in standard def. (cause that's the only way i can actually play my xbox) and when i try to do high def, i hook up the green/blue/red hd components, along with the red/white audio. no pic or sound. you see what i'm saying? i should at least be getting audio right? and yes, all of the cables are correctly in the right inputs. trust me.

anyway, thanks for everyone's reply. i guess i'll go buy some new component cables and try that. it won't hurt. ANYMORE SUGGESTIONS IF THAT DOESN'T WORK?

so i just bought a Panasonic plasma 1080p HDTV(two days ago, btw), was very excited to hook up my xbox 360 to see what high definition gaming was all about. but, obviously, i can't get the freakin thing to work no matter what i try. and i'm serious, i think i've tried everything there is to try. but this is driving me freakin crazy b/c i've tried everything about 10 times over! So anyway, here's the problem:

whenever the a/v cable switch is set to "hdtv", NOTHING HAPPENS! it's just a black/blank screen with no audio at all. now, i can play the xbox just fine whenever the a/v cable is set to "tv", but that's not high def! i tried going to the display settings in the xbox dashboard, but the settings won't change from 480p. and Yes, i tried switching the a/v cable to "hdtv" but that's when the problem occurs! the xbox restarts but nothing else happens! the screen just stays black and there's no audio. now i know what you're gonna ask, and before you ask i just wanna say, i've been using/messing with electronics of all kind for the past 10 years at least, so i have a general idea of what i'm doing, i'm not a noob. YES, all the cables are correctly connected and firmly snugged(i've checked all the basics about 20 times over, to be honest); YES, whenever i switch the a/v cable to "hdtv" i'm on the correct input channel that it should be playing on. Now, i checked the tv owner's manual and it said the component inputs(which are the inputs i'm using; i'm using the component cables that the xbox comes with) are compatible with 480p, 480i, 720p, and 1080i. so it should work right???

i've looked all over the internet but i can't find a solution, i've tried pretty much everything it seems like. and this really hurts: all the tv has, that is high def compatible, is two hd component inputs, and three hdmi inputs. the tv doesn't have a VGA port, so i can't go out and by a xbox VGA cord. and even though the tv has three hdmi inputs, my xbox doesn't have any hdmi ports! so wtf? i'm a just completely f*cked or what? PLEASE HELP. THIS IS DRIVING ME CRAZY!!
