'Will there be anything left to discover come October 16?' yup, as I haven't and don't plan on watching any of the Videos?? Maybe you shouldn't post them on your site if your complaining about it :P
to me.. it looks like they took the variety out of the styling in the gears 2 maps... in gears 1 they had rain, red glowy effect etc.... and in the second it was just green tint + tree's!!!! altho i havent a clue what all the other maps are like.... just an observation :)
oh and before i forget... if you already have one console does it really matter what the others graphics are like?? especially when its marginal. yes i agree its nice to have a gander to see whats happening on the other side, yet we all know it really doesnt matter. ill be playing my COD4 irrespective of if a shadow is slightly wonky or if a cloud is ever so misshapen. ill be busy running about getting head shots whilst you lot are spazzing out over zoomed in textures.
@ gamecubepad i wouldnt go as far as to say that it makes any console better than any other, i would say that it is a disadvantage. weather it be a massive one or not. the more time you have with something the better your inevitably going to be :) and they quite possibly could be made better on another console, but i do think that sony are going to be the best at utilizing their own hardware to make games than any third party company. i think its just something sony should have addressed after the complaints after making games for the PS2. just look at orange box... it makes me sad lol and thanx :) i do try my best haha
i personally have a PS3 and agree the graphics are still better on the xbox 360. You still have to remember which console came out first and what developers have had more time to work and make games with. they have always said its been harder to make a game on a sony machine than on a MS one.. and i think thats where lies the problem. companies have to work to deadlines and release games at the same time on both platforms. you may need to spend that little bit more time developing a ps3 game to get the most out of it, but due to time and the fact its all about making money here... they forgo the extra time because to be honest the differences are not great and they dont really see the point in going the extra mile when the rewards aren't all that different. its the games that sony makes exclusively that will show off the potential of the console due to the fact that time is less of an issue and dont have to stick to such ridged time scales. not to mention they know how to use the playstation tools better than third party companies.
lol @ you guys... all this stressing over a new graphics card and next month when the next one comes out it'll all start all over again it totally amuses me... i had a custom made PC... really enjoyed making it and for a while was my pride and joy but with technology advancing as it does getting stressed like you guys over a new graphics card etc got tiresome rather quickly so in the end i saved my hair and my sanity by selling my PC, buying a MacBook PRO for work and a PS3 for games laziness prevails :D who needs windows anyway lol
