Gamespot GameMarket

I have noticed the Gamespot GameMarket for about a month now and finally decided to check it out a few weeks ago. The prices for buying games seemed reasonable, so I decided to see how it worked to sell games. I have a large video game collection and I am starting to ween it down a little bit as I either beat games that I don't want to keep or play games thatI don't really like. I like the fact that people that get on Gamespot are gamers, so you are selling the games to fellow gamers who appreciate playing games.

I had Karaoke Revolution Volume 2 for the Playstation 2 that I decided that I don't like and don't plan on playing again. I decided to sell it using the GameMarket which uses glyde.com website. The selling price on GameMarket was a little better than what I was seeing on E-Bay. I listed the game on GameMarket for $12 and it ended up selling two days later. I was highly impressed with how fast it sold and how easy it is to sell games using GameMarket. The costs to sell the game is comparable to selling on E-Bay (about 12% plus costs of mailer). They send you a self-addressed bubble mailer that you put the game in and send it off. After the buyer receives the game you get money deposited into your glyde account which can be transferred to your bank. I was impresses with how quickly the game sold.

Right now I have two games listed including Grandia 2, Cooking Mama, and Psychonauts. Grandia 2 has been listed for awhile with no bites and I just listed Cooking Mama and Psychonauts last night. I guess if the games take too long to sell I will try E-Bay.

2010 Video Game Accomplishments

I beat 5 video games in 2009 and matched it with 5 beaten games in 2010. I beat the following Nintendo DS games in 2010:

Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story

Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance

Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen

Professor Layton and the Curious Village

Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride

I played the Nintendo DS mainly this past year with some party games on the Nintendo Wii and some short gaming sessions on the Playstation 2. I hope to play through more games on the Playstation 2 in 2011 since I only have Dragon Quest IX left to play on the Nintendo DS. I might end up getting Dragon Quest VI when it comes out, so I don't have to worry about having troubles finding it later. I am not sure if I will wait to play Dragon Quest VII that I have for the Playstation or not. The games are not linear, so it probably does not matter. Here's to a good gaming year in 2011.

3,255,066 Steps

It has been a little over a year since my wife and I got DS Walking for the Nintendo DS. I have logged in 3,255,066 steps in a year. That is equivalent to 1628 miles of walking, jogging, or running that I have done. That is a little less than the distance to drive from Seattle, Washington to Omaha, Nebraska. My wife and I did most of our walking while we lived in Japan from January until March 2010. While in Japan I walked 32,780 steps (16 miles) one day going to and hiking around Mt. Nokogiri. The most active walking I have had was 55 minutes straight. My wife whomped me on this with 60 minutes(1 hour)straight.

It is pretty neat that we are still actively using the DS Walking game (if you want to call it that). We have had a lot of months wherewe stamped everyday which means we are checking our steps at least every other day. I would recommend this software for the Nintendo DS justfor the information it provides. The software will show your actual steps throughout the day and the marker turns red if you are moving for 10 minutes straight. You can also walk around the world and learn interesting facts along the way. We got to the 100% with that function, but you can still keep going andlearning new things.

I better stop writing this, so I can figure out what game to play next.

2009 Video Game Accomplishments

It has been a great year of getting back to video gaming. I have been quite productive in playing my huge collection of video games. During this year I have started writing reviews for all the video games I have completed. It helps me keep track of all the games that I beat. I started the year playing Nintendo DS games since that was the only game system I had with me in Japan for the first three months of the year. I have beat the following games this year:

Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Brothers 3 - Nintendo DS

The Legend of Zelda: The Phantom Hourglass - Nintendo DS

Lock's Quest - Nintendo DS

Tales of Destiny II- Playstation

New Super Mario Bros. - Nintendo DS

I will be playing Nintendo DS games for the first 2 months since I will be in Japan again. Once I get back I hope to get through some more Playstation 1and Playstation 2 games and some of our new Nintendo Wii games.I got rid of the original X-Box since I have not played any of those games in the last three years. It has been a great year for me and I am hoping that next year will be even better.

2006 Video Game Accomplishments

I wish I could have spent more time playing games this past year, but I had a girlfriend for 5 months and was studying for the professional engineering exam for 4 months of the year.  My ex-girlfriend did not like video games, so I did not play very many while I was dating her.  I took this idea from venus577, but I thought it was a great idea.

I have only beaten the following games which you can read my reviews on:

PS1 Final Fantasy VIII
PS1 Silent Hill
PS1 Norse by Norsewest

I have played through most of the following games, but I have not completed them:

PS2 Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (15 hours game time)
PS2 Disgaea: Hour of Darkness (40 hours game time)

I am currently playing Okami (15 hours game time).

I plan on beating more video games this year, but I really need to work on throwing in some shorter games.
