Only console gamers would complain about not having complete control over game saves, yet applaud Sony for suing people trying to bring complete freedom to the very same system. Console gamers are the most BS consumer base on this planet.i5750at4Ghz
I don't think it follows that people who may oppose hacking, pirating, or other general violations of intellectual property must logically also be against the introduction of controlled features which make their consumer experience more convenient or configurable... I don't follow your logic.

Anyone who has ever had a PS3 crash and burn on them would appreciate this feature. You can back game saves up, but it's a huge pain in the butt. And some of them are encrypted, so you can't back them up except with a monolithic backup. I agree that Sony could (potentially) use this to inconvenience you if they think they smell a rat, but if you're not doing anything disreputable then you have no reason to be worried about that. I think this is good news.
