@tsquared44 I really liked it. One of the best horror survival games I've played in a long time. For reference, the scariest game I've played is Penumbra Black Plague, followed by Amnesia. The Silent Hill series and Siren Blood Curse come after those two.
I think Outlast is not as scary as the ones I mentioned but it creates an amazing feeling of tension at all times. Have you played Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth? Outlast seems like a spiritual successor of that game. The use of nightvision is excellent and felt like I was in a movie. There are a lot of jump scares but you anticipate a lot of them. Enemies are genuinely freaky, too. You spend a lot of time hiding and avoiding enemies and chase sequences are well made.
If you get scared easily, you'll love it. The only thing that was lacking was the plot. It just wasn't as good as I had hoped but it was typical of asylum setting plots...oh, and it goes crazy at the end of the game.
Very nice. This validates my pre-order. I was afraid it would turn out bad. IMO the negatives are things that a lot of games have, even when they get higher scores. I'll be enjoying this over the weekend :D
@Karmazyn Get the first when it's on sale for $5 on steam. It's well worth the $5. It's a really good game and still one of the best looking out there.
@max-hit @MAD_AI @inaka_rob There are a lot of survival horror games apart from the first 2 silent hills. Also, all the Silent Hills are survival horror...I think there are 8 of them now lol...
