The new antivirus you have is actually a virus. It shows fake windows and emits fake alerts. It was on one of my house's computer. After looking a bit around the net, I decided it was too complicated to get rid of, so I chose the easy way.

I formatted and reinstalled Windows !

I think it does that with all Os'es, once it's installed on a partition, it kind of takes control over it. If you had partitionned it you could have formatted the partition XP wasn't installed on and partition that partition. But no messing with an OS's partition.

not sure if I'm right on that, but I don't think you can partition after installing windows if your hard drive isn't partitionned at all.

Actually, I'm pretty sure I'm right

Download cpuz and check your cpu frequency.

Chances are that Intel SpeedStep (EIST) is enabled. Enter your Bios and disable it if it isn't yet. EIST decreases your cpu frequency for lower power consumption.

alpowerfull

I've oc'd in the bios to 2.8ghz, and I still get 10-20 fps in the Crysis intro, and I still cant run 3dmark vantage

you need vista SP1 to run 3dmark vantage
