After taking physics this year, I'm so used to using the metric system that whenever I measure something out I always do it with the centimeter side of a ruler. It takes a bit to get used to, but I really do think it's far superior. The only thing I do hate is Celsius/Kelvin. It's good when dealing with certain things, but as far as measuring the daily temperature, Fahrenheit makes it more apparent that it's burning hot or freezing cold outside.
I'll probably just tell her I love her. I'm unable to buy gifts for either of my parents, since no matter what you get them they're pissed off about the money spent or never use it/care about it.
Not so much the recession as much as I'm going to university next year, so I've limited myself to games that REALLY peak my interest, and are under $20.
