Split screen compromises the single player experience. Levels have to built in a way to support everything being processed twice. By eliminating split screen, the developer can go all out in regards to scale, number of enemies on screen, visual details, etc. I guarantee that if Halo 6 has split screen and 343 doesn't compromise the frame rate, there will be smaller levels with less enemies or the visuals will take a dip.

343 has explained this and yet gamers can't seem to wrap their heads around it. I could figure out that Halo's single player was always somewhat compromised in order to include split screen.

Day 1 purchase. Controller is the most important part of the console. It appears durable and is compatible with PCs therefore this thing will be used for a long time. The ability to switch control schemes mid-game is awesome. I'm not a super competitive gamer but I think this will enhance most genres. I would even use the paddles in RPGs.

If you haven't seen the in depth previews of this thing, I suggest you guys check it out. I was out after the price announcement but back in once I learned more. More than meets the eye. If this controller ever hit critical mass to the point where they bundled it with the Xbox One for the same price as the PS4, I think MS would move a lot of consoles.

Graphics matter...but have reached the point of diminishing returns. Devs sacrificing stability to go from 900P to 1080P doesn't make sense. This generation has been about extra pixels and polygons...while load times, frame rates, AI and physics are all stuck in 10 years ago.

AI in FPSs has barely improved since Halo CE. Physics have barely improved since Half Life 2. Load times in open world games haven't advanced much since Morrowind. There's not a lot of games with animations better than Prince of Persia 1. Having higher quality textures and resolution only magnifies the lack of advancement in the other areas. Those other issues are a greater factor in wrecking the immersion than the graphics these days.
