I usually don't do this because 99 percent of the time I don't give any of these type of sites credence. However, I do highly recommend that you fellas bookmark this page and check it periodically:

This guy's source seems very legit and the updates come before the official Sony updates.

There would be a lot of Japanese people stating that the PSN is up for them, but that's obviously not the case. In fact, quite a few Japanese people have said it's not up for them. Someone started this rumor and it spread like wildfire to all of the gaming sites that aren't very credible.

http://www.joystiq.com/2011/05/01/psn-outage-plus-qriocity-free/ Notes handed out before a Sony press conference today (timed so conveniently at 1am EDT in the US, and noon on the Sunday of Golden Week in Japan) reveal that Sony plans to offer free downloads of unidentified "content," 30 days of free PlayStation Plus access to new and existing members, and 30 days of free Qriocity service. The paper also says that PSN service will be restored "soon."

Sorry to be the bearer of somewhat bad news, folks, but here's an update on when we should expect the PSN to be up. Seems like it's been changed from before May 3rd-4th to just "the week of May 2nd." Whether it's early or late in the week is anybody's guess at this point; hopefully the former. http://us.playstation.com/support/answer/index.htm?a_id=2356
