Just to provide closure on this thread I got a snow white Xbox one!

Disappointed by a few things but plenty to be happy about. Won't go into them since it'd ignite a war but overall the team at Microsoft did an amazing job... I say this because I played the XO at a friends years ago, roughly November '13 and despite only playing/navigating for 10 mins I really didn't like it. Fast forward to today and it feels like a totally different console.

Hey guys,

Disclaimer: Before we go any further I am basically openly debating whether or not I should buy an Xbox One and I am inviting others to inform me and help me make a decision. Because of this I give my thoughts on the console, what I like and what I don't like. You'll see me saying such things like 'The controller is worse' or something like that, I am not saying it is objectively worse but merely in my opinion to me personally I like it less - after I posted this I re-read and felt like it appeared I was giving the Xbox a hard time. This wasn't my intention but happens when you put anything under the microscope, same would happen with the PS4.

I've accumulate a great library of games for my PS3 and PS4. From decent exclusives like Infamous: SS, to solid multiplat's like Far Cry to absolute smashers like Bloodborne & Last Of Us. I also own a decent PC which, gaming wise, is used for PC only / orientated games such as Hearthstone, MMO's, MOBA's and indies. So up until recently I felt no real reason to buy an Xbox.

I've never been big on Xbox's in general. Call me what you will but honestly I grew up on the Playstation original and I am biased towards the brand - we all have all our little biases which make us who we are and define our tastes and preferences - I'm certainly no fanboy though and openly accept the Xbox franchise has a lot going for it, but ultimately up until recently wasn't enough to entice me in - given I had all my bases covered in the gaming sector.

The PS4 is going to have a killer '16 of that I have no doubt (in fact all of gaming will) however we all know late '15 is pretty darned weak. Recently I find myself thinking about getting an Xbox One. I wanted to know from you guys in particular what the Xbox One could bring to the table that my PC and PS4 already don't have covered.

Currently, reasons for:

- Halo 5!

- Forza Horizon: I am a big sim racer running a T500rs rig. Arcade wise the PS4 has DriveClub which is some quick fun and one of the prettiest games ever, outshining the yet to be released Forza 6 and recently released PCars by some margin! Sim wise I have PCars and Gran Turismo 6 (PS3) which for all intents and purposes is very similar to any Forza game. However, having the engine from Forza in a beautiful open world environment is a mouth watering prospect and I have always been jealous of the Horizon franchise as their simply isn't a Sony equivalent (no Gran Turismo Horizon :()

- Never liked the appearance of the One but every day that goes by I'm liking it, the snow white one is even becoming very sexy to me

- Controller feel and utility is equal to PS4 imo but lacks features such as the touch pad (and the infrared aiming thing, whatever its called), built in sound from controller, headset ease/utility, rechargeable, and even the lightbar can help immerse you in certain titles (GTA, or many games low health it goes red... which is something I guess lmao). However, the new elite customisable controller with things like paddles is totally up my street! Brilliant idea and really would love one. Depending on just how crazy you can get with it this could easily make up for those deficiencies and I could make the controller of my dreams! Is it out yet? It sounds amazing on paper but I wonder how it converts in real life. I'm a total controller feature junky lol.

- Kinect... Shocking I know but I've never really tested these peripherals out, stuck to core gaming, I'd like to try it and my GF wants that dancing game. I already know the Kinect will eat the PSEye alive. I could also use it outside of gaming, but Is it good enough for me to use it on things like Netflix, Youtube or even Google? I know it's capable of such things but I wonder if it will consistently hear me every time when I say 'Google Gamespot' and if it does it as fast or faster than without the Kinect. I do not want it to become one of those things which just frustrate me, or I force myself to use simply because I paid for it and don't want to waste it. Any thoughts on every day use with the Kinect?

- Rise Of the Tomb Raider: Loved the original, not such a big deal since it will be coming to PS4 later... but still

Against:

- £350+ for essentially the same thing I already have

- I've been lucky enough to try Virtual Reality and it blew me away. This is no gimmick. Sony has Morpheus coming out early next year and I'm sure since it's first party and internally developed it will have lots of support and will be well utilised. Microsoft don't seem to have their own, will the Oculus work on the One? Even if it did I'm not sure it'd be as well utilised as it is designed for PC's and would probably be a massive load on any console. I know MS have the smart glass thing which looks really cool but beyond Minecraft I really don't see a utility in gaming.

- Xbox has a lot of TV functionality. I don't watch TV at all. All I use is Netflix, Youtube and Google. But even with these my PC does 99%, occasionally I'll watch a movie on the console or a Youtube clip. Also, I find 'snapping' a bit odd, two things on one screen simply will not work for me (it'd give me a headache). Obviously I could just opt not to use it, but this was one of Xbox's key selling features.

- Does the controller come with a rechargable version? Like a simple USB into the controller port to charge? Batteries are my mortal enemy and I cannot stand them. Also, I'm pretty certain it lacks a headset jack in the controller and has limitations on non MS branded heatsets, how does this affect every day use? is it as restrictive as it seems? Also lacks the sound from the controller

- Currently only 2 exclusives I really want and one timed exclusive, what do Xbox have for 2016? Any big hitters?

- For multiplats I'd probably always buy on PS4. As a rule of thumb either the resolution or FPS is always superior on PS4, sometimes both, occasionally this isn't the case (FPS on Witcher 3) but it may be fixed, or is offset by resolution, so it isn't clean cut.

Anyway guys I just want some opinions. Is there a space for a PS4 and Xbox? Does the One still have that massive brick? Is there a version you can get without it (lol)? If you were trying to sell me an Xbox but had to be honest what would you say? How's the Kinect? Is it worth buying for only 3 exclusives? Is it, as I assume from tech run downs, generally inferior for multiplats? The PS4 has features in it's multiplats specifically designed around the controller, in GTA the lightbar flashes blue/red for the cops, in all games the touch pad is used for changing weapons, map usage, anything a mouse is used for etc, flicking rapidly causes menu shortcuts, aiming the controller at the tv causes the cursor to move, does the Xbox have any design / controller specific features for multiplats in a similar fashion (or any?)

Btw only replies from people who own and love their Xbox One and believe it to be either superior to the PS4 or a console that should share living rooms with the PS4.

Thanks! And pretty sure this is my first thread so apologies if I sound a bit odd and the EXTREME length, wasn't sure how to approach the question. It says I've posted before but been ages (year +) so I don't even remember ever being on this site, lol. Will continue to research and this will form part of my decision, hoping to have bought the One (If I'm going to) before the big hitters release.

Hey guys,

I really wanted to make a full, thoroughly made list that not only listed the exclusives A-Z but filled in the gaps... What is X developer working on? What happened to Y? Etc. It helps fill in the picture of what's coming in the horizon. I will be adding to the more in depth part of what's coming, I just covered 90% of the internal developers... there are a tonne of studio's that are heavily linked with Sony and will almost definitely be creating a PS4 exclusive. I will be putting in an equal amount of research and depth into the Xbox side, needless to say it takes time to rally up the facts / information so give me a day or two and we'll have a thorough list to compare and contrast both sides. What I have found is the Xbox focusing on more FPS shooters and less indies whilst the PS4 is more RPG orientated with more indies.

In a console war with such similar architecture and equally brilliant controllers exclusives are the only thing to differentiate them... and every buyer should know what franchises they are buying into.

I, unfortunately, didn't read the rules before posting. I usually would but felt that such a post would be tremendously helpful to all gamers... especially if I were to add a PC section. If the mod's do read this, I hope you have the discretion to let it slide given the support and how useful it is... hell I'd like to get it stickied but that's another topic.

Either way I'll continue researching and add in the Xbox's side later, ciao.

P.S I'll get onto God Of Hand when I next update it. Keep sending in games and I'll add them to the list with whatever research I can find. I was thinking of putting sources for every claim too... I may do this at the end though - would only make the entire process even longer.

Thought I'd create a thread discussing which console has the better exclusives in the near future and beyond. I felt like 2014 was a better year for Xbox, but 2015 Sony has come back swinging with a raft of big hitters like Hellblade, Bloodborne, Uncharted, The Order (even if it was a tad disappointing) and a bunch of indie support in Magicka 2, Helldivers etc.

I wanted to create a list of all the games announced for the next two years and beyond, including some games which may be so early in the development we have seen no footage but the development of such titles have been confirmed. Because of just how vast the list is (well the PS4 side, haven't even got to the Xbox yet...) I'm gonna upload an unfinished PS4 exclusive list then continue to add to it whilst also creating the Xbox list... therefore I'd appreciate reminding me of any I've missed.

The definition of exclusive within the context of this list is only for consoles. If the Xbox One has it and the PS4 doesn't then it will (for the sake of this list) be deemed an exclusive, regardless of whether or not it's on the PC or Vita. This is because this list is only intended to compare the two consoles, not the PC.

The PS4 list is still far from complete, as obviously is the Xbox One. The first part of the listings will focus on the internal developers and what they're up to before a list of all 3rd party and indie games. Some information within the 'internal developers' section is speculation, feel free to add your thoughts of who's developing what titles and which titles will actually be made.

PS4:

Sonys internal developers

Sucker Punch have confirmed an 'Infamous 4' (no title as of yet) is in the works. They said they will be taking an Assasin's Creed approach... using different people in different places in different times. They have no plans on moving on to a new I.P.

Polyphony Digital are well on the way to developing Gran Turismo 7. No comments on new features or gameplay elements, all he would mention is that the game would run using the new game engine from GT6 and that damage and improved sound effects would be priorities amongst other things. In late 2013 the developers felt GT7 would be ready for mid 2015, this has since been pushed back.

Evolution studios are not currently working on any new game, but continuing to support DriveClub.

Guerrilla Games (Killzone franchise) had said a few years back they wanted to do something new. Recently, job listings, internal leaks and leaked concept art reveal a title known as Horizon. Little is known about the title (may be shown at E3). When a Sony executive (Yoshida) was asked what GG was working on, he said it was 'epic'. Based on the leaked photos and info everything points to it being a sci-fi prehistoric open world RPG. Release date would be late 2016 at the very earliest.

Naughty Dog separated into two teams a few years back. One team worked on The Last Of Us, the other Uncharted 4. Obviously one team is still developing Uncharted, but what's the other team working on? A sequel to The Last Of Us? Naughty Dog hasn't ruled it out.

SCE Studio Bend (Syphon Filter franchise) haven't released a game since 2011. However, they've been developing a PS4 exclusive for many years. Not much is known about the new I.P. All rumours suggest the next game will be a horror game, this was supported when Sony Executive (Yoshida) said the game would make you 'panic'.

SCE Studio Cambridge (LittleBigPlanet PSP) have not announced what they are developing. Their last game came out in 2013. Sony have confirmed the studio is busy on a PS4 title, unfortunately nothing is known about it.

SCE Studio Japan (Demon Soul's/Knack) is lending some resources to help develop Bloodborne. The other part of the team is trying to finally finish development on The Last Guardian. What was left is handling 3 games for the release of project Morpheus in 2016. The VR games include an updated 'The Deep', 'Magic Controller' and 'Bedroom Robots'.

SCE Studio London (Getaway franchise) have also developed a VR game for 2016; 'London Heists' which will seem to work similarly to the Getaway series the developers are known for. 'VR Luge' is also being developed, whilst the firm has said they are also working on bringing social features/apps to Sony's VR headset.

Sony Online Entertainment (DC Online, Planetside) are working on PlanetSide 2, H1Z1 and Everquest next.

SCE San Diego (MLB franchise) are working on MLB: The Show.

SCE Santa Monica (God Of War franchise) confirmed very early in 2014 that they were developing the next God Of War game. They said it definitely wasn't going to be a prequel but that there will be major changes. There are many rumours suggesting a reboot, and when asked if Cratos would be the main feature the developers refused to comment. This studio has also helped push along development for the Last Guardian, whether or not they've stopped helping is not confirmed. Similarly to Naughty Dog, Santa Monica may very well be developing two new games. Alongside God Of War, rumours are flying around that the studio has been developing a new I.P set in outer space, when asked, Yoshida refused to comment.

Media Molecule (LittleBigPlanet franchise) are currently developing Tearaway Unfolded.

Quantic Dream (Beyond: Two Souls, Heavy Rain) are heavily linked with the development of Beyond: Two Souls for the PS4. Also, there are plenty of rumours suggesting the developers are working on a new PS4 exclusive, this probably is the case but due to the average 5 year development cycle the firm employs we won't be seeing anything until late 2017 / early 2018, and this is assuming Beyond: Two Souls remastering won't be detracting from the other I.P. If all goes well we may see the game being revealed next year (if indeed, there is a game to reveal). This is almost certainly the case though given Sony's relationship with the developers.
