I had this same problem.  You need to open these pages yourself with a knife or letter opener as per ubisoft....

Yes I do have an Elite and it does come with a HDMI cable...but I still went out and bought me a Rocket Fish HDMI cable. (get em cheap)

I hooked up my HDMI to my elite and it did upscale my dvd's. The difference was barely visible...but even at that IMO I thought it looked alot better with component (the way I had it).I also noticed that once I put my components back in my 360 and put a dvd to play, it downscaled it to the 480p....andIMO it looked alot better than when it was on the HDMI 720p. I have no idea why...but the colors were alot vivid and darker w/ component. You could see alot more detail in the backgrounds. Go figure? I blamed my display...but in the end I stick to component until I upgrade my LCD in the future.

I thank you all for your help. :D

So HDMI won't do it..only vga? I have an Elite but I have it hooked up with component cables. I tried using the HDMI..but the picture looked very bright and I think with component...the picture looks better on my LCD.

Now if I go out and buy the xbox vga cable and hook it up to my LCD, will I get audio out of a VGA...or will I need an audio Receiver. Keep in mind I have no surround sound...only audio out of my LCD.What else would I Need?

Thnx

No no no. HDMI and component are the only ways to upscale, so you are fine, no additional hardware required.

So what settings do I need to mess with? I'm using component right now and no upscale. It actually downscales it to 480i.

As for the HDMI....I I go hook up my HDMI cable...and leave my 360 settings at 1080i....put in a dvd..it will downscale it to 720p rather than the 480i component does?

Thx again.

I have a 32 in 720P LCD. I have my 360 running at 1080i being that my lcd also supports that. Picture quality looks GREAT while i'm gaming and such.

Now if I put in a dvd...it automatically drops everything down to the 480 resoltion which is standard. Is there anyway I can watch my Dvd's on my 720p resolution? I'm not expecting HD quality out of a standard DVD...but I would like for the resolutions to stay the same (1080i)no matter what I play on my 360. Is that possible?

I also had heard a rumor about how a 360 up converts ur regular dvd's to atleast 720p. Is this true??

Thank You guys for your time.

Ok...here it goes:

I own a Premium 360 with the 20GB HDD and I bought it at Best Buy along with the 2yr PRP.  I plan to take this Premium back to Best Buy and get the Elite and only pay the difference of $80.  Now I do have to return the 20GB HDD when I return my 360 to get my new one....so how would I tranfer my data from my 20GB to my 120GB?

One thing I did think was that I can save my profile on a memory card....then just lauch it up on my Elite...and be able to Download all my content all over again.  Would this be possible....or must I figure out some other way?  Any suggestions and Help would be GREAT!!!  Thank you for your time.

Do you have your 360 horizontally or vertically?  When I had mine standing up...it would always freeze on me...then I laid it down and it never gave me that problem again.  Very weird solution....but it worked for me.
