Well wasn't camp just filled with lots of fun and excitement? It was boring and now it hurts to walk up stairs from the hiking and kayaking. I got up on Wednesday to go and actually thought about throwing myself down the stairs so I wouldn't have to go but decided against it as I looked at how steep they were and thought I would probably die instead of just break something. After a 3 hour ferry journey and a 4 hour bus ride we arrived at Abel Tasmen National Park. Then I proceeded to hike for 4 hours with my pack on my back. Then it was time for dinner where I had hot bacon grease spilled on me and did get burnt. At that point I was so tired I went to bed and slept. I got up the next day and kayaked for 3 hours. Then we went on short 45 minute hike and decided to take the shortcut back but it was high tide and we had to swim across. Then we went swimming and just chilled out for the rest of the day. On the last and final day we had to run the same trail we walked the day before. Then we went on the water taxi back which was fun (the only fun part of the trip) then had another 4 hour bus ride and ferry trip back. On the ferry I wrote postcards and started a list to send in to Jon and Rob over on at Top of the Pods (subscribe now!!) which I shall send over tomorrow when I type it up. I was told that it would be a great way to make friends but it wasn't. I was pretty much ignored the entire time and was in a tent with lazy people who I wouldn't really consider friends. They snored and we're overly annoying. I took the tent down myself and when asked one of the girls on the last day to get out so I could take it down saw she was text messaging someone as people in NZ seem to be addicted to it. They got signal and were overly happy then their batteries ran out and were sad. Tomorrow will be a catch up day on this site as no one shall be home and can do whatever I want. After I fully catch up here I'm going to watch CSI and 24 and eat a grilled cheese sandwich. It shall be heaven after 3 days away in a place I didn't like. I still hate NZ internet but that is it for now.
