Um, how is the PS3 a failure?

It's rate of sale is virtually identical to the 360's. With the price cut, some great games available (finally) with more on the way and the holidays coming, Sony should have a bump similar to the one M$ had. And lets not forget that consumer polls have placed the PS3 among the top 5 most sought after items for the holiday period. I think it's a little premature to be calling anything a failure or even a success for that matter.

Gamespot is not biased. Sure they have an occasional outlier like Zelda or R&C, but these are the exceptions not the norm. Gamespot has always judged games a little harsher than the majority of other sites.

The fact of the matter is that the xbox360 has had an AMAZING run of games. In less than 2 years it has 5 of the top 50 games off all time. Check gamerankings.com if you think Gamespot is biased. Gamerankings averages all the major reviewers and gives you an average for every game ever made. There are 5 xbox360 games in the top 50, 1 Wii game, and 0 PS3. Gamespot seems to favor xbox360 because xbox360 has the better games. Deal with it.

Here are the top 5 360 games if your interested.

#3 - The orange Box

#11 - Bioshock

#30 - Oblivion

#35 - Gears of War

#42 Halo 3

Wii has Twilight Princess at #29

PS3s best title is Oblivion at #51. It doesn't have another title in the top 200. I don't think R&C have enough reviews in to qualify yet, so it might have an outside shot to land somewhere in the high 170-200 range.

XBOX360 has AAA games on gamespot because the system has some of the greatest games ever made. End of story. Learn to deal with it.

Why is Oblivion on the PS3 #51 when Oblivion on the 360 is #30? They're exactly the same and the PS3 arguably has better graphics (and I'm basing that statement on review written by Gamespot).

Also, I see bias when a game like Skate is knocked down half a point from the 360 review when there is virtually no difference at all. Gamespot claimed frame rate issues and I've not seen a single, solitary difference in frame rate between my PS3 version and my buddies 360 version.

This is ridiculous I could add up the PS3 costs and then say that I have dial up and it costs me $1 a minute and then leave it on for a few hours and then claim ownage..martin_f

That's a completely ridiculous argument because

a) Both systems require an internet connection

b) Both systems require broadband, which if I'm not mistaken do not have by the minute service fees.

3.Good idea but no you cant burn ps2 games to the hardrive with any ps3s sorry:(

KiraNoir

well so yea basically the ps3 80 has same stuff just better performance i think ;o

Actually, the 60 gig will have the best performance of the three as it has the Emotion chip set which is a hardware solution for backwards compatibility. The 80 gig uses a software solution that isn't as good. The 40 gig looses any backwards compatibility, only has 2 USB ports (as opposed to six in the 60 and 80 gig version) and deletes the media bay that reads SD (mini and standard) CF Cards and Memory sticks.

Don't forget that you can upgrade the HDD in your PS3 with just about any 2.5" HDD for a laptop which makes the best bang for your buck the 60 gig version in my opinion.

You also must realize that Newell is a former Microsoft employee and he made millions while there...so yeah, he's gonna bash anything that competes with his Sugar Daddy.

It's a great game, much more a skate "sim" than the more arcade-ish Tony Hawk series. It's got a few funky issues, mainly camera angle stuff and I'd really like to be able to get of my board and walk, it would make sessioning stair cases so much easier, but for the most part it's a great game. I think the gamespot review is really unfair as one of their biggest complaints is the framerate which I honestly haven't noticed (I have yet to go online, however). I'd give it an 8.5 and say if you're a fan of skateboarding you must have this game. Pulling of tricks and tech lines is very, very satisfying.
