Harvest Moon Games

I absolutely love Harvest Moon.....I wish there were more time in the day to play it as much as I would like to. :D This is why I buy HM for PSP or DS, so I can play whenever I want to.....like on my lunch break :)

Anyway, I know you can see all my HM games on my Games List but I just wanted to see a list of just HM, not everything...so bear with me as I list them. :)

Nintendo 64
Harvest Moon: 64

PSP
Innocent Life: A Futuristic Harvest Moon
Harvest Moon: Boy and Girl
Harvest Moon: Hero of Leaf Valley

DS
Harvest Moon DS Cute
Harvest Moon: Island of Happiness
Harvest Moon: Sunshine Islands

I have yet to buy Harvest Moon Grand Bazaar but hope to soon. If you have HM Grand Bazaar, what do you think of it?

i heart harvest moon

It all started not too long after my sister and I got our first Nintendo 64. We would walk to the video store down the road and rent games for the weekend since we couldn't afford to buy new games....or just wouldn't save up the money. Sometimes we picked winners and other times we picked losers. When we went this particular time we really picked a winner with Harvest Moon 64. Although, I will admit that this game is definitely not for everyone. It is a wonderful series if you like simulation games, farming, raising animals, a litt bit of romance, a few festivals, and maybe some alcohol :)

When we first playedHarvest Moon 64 there were already a saved game and we figured we would play for a bit on that and get the general feel or the game. Well, it turns out that we really shouldn't have done that. We started a new game and there was a 'walk-through' of sorts, the Mayor of the town would show you where all the shops and important places are. In this game you take over your grandfathers farm after he passes away, having to start by clearing rocks, weeds, and stumps. Then you will grow crops and flowers as well as raise animals including a dog, a horse, coes, sheep, and chickens. You will need to build relationships with different villagers and you can even end up getting married and having a child! There are also key things you can do in the game and you will receive a picture of it that you can look at when you are at home. Speaking of home, you will actually need to expand it somewhat in order to get married. You have the options of adding a kitchen, bathroom, porch, stairs, baby bed, and a greenhouse, all of which serve their purpose but you have to have at least the kitchen to get married and the baby bed in order to have a child. This all lasts 3 or more years.

Anyway, this is basically the same concept for every other Harvest Moon game out there but they all have different quirks about them. I absolutely love them! I now own Harvest Moon 64, HM Boy & Girl PSP, HMDSCute DS, HM Sunshine Islands DS, Innocent Life: A Futuristic Harvest Moon PSP, HM Hero Of Leaf Valley PSP, and HM Island Of Happiness DS. I enjoy other games as well but mostly RPGs like Golden Sun, The Sims, or Zelda. It may seem like I play silly games, but I can't help but love them. I do find some fun in games like Tomb Raider, Assassins Creed, Halo, and Call of Duty though, so that may count for something.
