If you have read my blog earlier, you know that I have a Wii. And if you have a Wii, you also have access to the retro treasure chest that is the Virual Console. When I first bought my console in the beginning of Desember ( In fact, I got it the day it launched)ΒΈ I saw my future self spending 1000s and 1000s of points on old Nintendo classics. Well, now it's June, and I haven't bought a single Virual Console game since December.
Here's why: The games are appealing to me, will cost me ass much as a marked down or pre-owned PS2, Gamecube or PC game. Instead of playing Streets of Rage 2 or Star Fox 64 in my living room, I'll much rather sit the exactly same place and play RE 4, Shadow of the Colossus, Spellforce 2 or Wind Waker. That's my huge problem with the Virtual Console service.
So, what could Nintendo do get me to buy some games from their huge and tremendous library. Here's a suggestion, make it so I can play them on my DS! How hard could it be? You'll sell me an emulator in a DS-cartridge and an SD-card reader in a GBA cartridge. Then I could just transfer my VC games from the Wii to the SD-card, pop it into my DS and there you go!
Speaking about the DS, I'm seriously considering buying a DS Lite for the holiday. You see, my old DS Fat broke back in September, and if I now want to play one of my 11 DS games, I have to use my brother's DS (Fat). So I felt it was time to conquer the areas of dual screened gaming once again. I was surfing several game stores on the hunt for a game to get with my new DS, because you will need a new game if you buy a need system. Suddenly it sroke me that all the games I wanted to play, was unavailable to me. Puzzle Planet is not out before the end of the month, Elite Beat Agents isn't out before mid-July and Jam Session ( a weird guitar game that looks freakin' amazing) isn't out until September!. Also, the only Wii games I want to play right now, being Super Paper Mario and Trauma Center isn't out either! Living in the richest country on earth doesn't actually give me the right to be angry, but who really cares. JUST GIVE ME THE DAMN GAMES! WII WANT TO PLAY! That is about all I have to say.
