Don't get me wrong.  I love all types of games, one of my favorite games is an on-rail shooter: Panzer Dragoon Orta.  I just wish more games incorporated an adventure/exploration perspective, 'cause there is a certain level of  happiness when you find something that was meant to be kept hidden.

Open-ended... easily. With games these days I expect to have some kind of choice on what I do about certain problems I may face. Deus Ex is amazing. :Dfoxhound_fox

Oh yeah, Deus Ex is awesome. I remember when I broke into the women's bathroom and scared away a woman who was in there, then when I came back to the same place the same woman was sitting on a couch while a man was consoling her. She pointed at me and said "That's him" it gave me chills.

Do you prefer games that let you go around and explore or do you prefer games that are simpler/linear?

I like games that you can get lost in and accomplish objectives in your own way, but the more linear games(most of the time) have much more emphasis on scripted events that look cool but don't contribute too much to the gameplay.

Women with southern accents just give me the vapors, unless they're too ugly.

Those look beautiful.  The line between gameplay and CGI is becoming ever thinner, and if I'm not mistaken this game exploits that by seamleslly going from gameplay to CGI.
