Dreamcast 2? No, It Can't Be.

Source: Trademark-trolling site Trademork reported this week that Sega had filed a new application to secure its rights to the Dreamcast name. The site speculated that the game maker might be preparing to reenter the hardware market with a Dreamcast 2. A slew of Web sites jumped on the speculation and passed it along with a token dash of skepticism. Full Story. Courtesy of Gamespot.

Isn't it a bit too late for Sega to start thinking about returning to the console making scene? It's been about 8 years since the Dreamcast, and they're not exactly gaining grown in software sales. This is only a rumor, a rumor that's very hard to believe coming true.

In other recent news, I watched the Mayweather/Hatton fight on Pay-Per View last night. Both were undefeated, and there was a lot of hype leading up to this fight. The building was packed with celebrities like Denzel Washington and David Beckham antcipating an epic showdown. End result, Floyd Mayweather by TKO in the 10th round. Now I know some people (Especially the British) don't like Floyd much, but you can't help to marvel at his superb boxing skill. Hatton looked decent against him, it's unfortunate his fans came all the way from Manchester UK only to be disappointed by the lost. I know one thing though, Hatton fans are loyal, so I have no doubt they'll stick by him no matter what. Keep your head up Hatton, and congrats to Mayweather.
