Nintendo
By far the worst of all three. Their conference just pointed out that they really don't care about the core gamer. All they care about is the expanded audience. They only really pointed out offerings of games for older people or non gamers. Wii Fit got 20 minutes of demo time. But, when they showed Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass and Metroid Prime 3 they only showed 3 minutes of play time. They also said they were not going to bring Super Smash Brothers Brawl demo for reasons that are unclear to me. Well I think they dd it so people could focus on the other games to make the core audience feel not left out. Also with Mario Kart, Reggie Fils-Aime said that anyone wil be able to play it, there will be no difference between a veteran of the franchise and a beginner. Well doesn't that take away from the fun of the game. If there is no diffeence in the skill what would ake people play it. There will be no challenge, it will just be based on luck and weapons. How would you feel that sense of accomplishment if nobody is really better than you. In Mario Kart 64 on 150 cc you actually had to race on skill who can get the tighter turns or drift the best. This also shows that they want to tone down franchise games so the expanded audience can pick up and play. Pretty soon the Legend of Zelda will have people take Link on daily workout excersises rather than go in dugeons. Its ridiculous the direction they are taking. They should put the core gamers first. The people that stood in line for the N64, People that kept cheering on the Gamecube wen there weren't good games, or when Sony was beating them. The people who would play still play Mario even when he is in his 50th game. Its these people who make or break what a system is. When the Wii has run its ourse and the expanded audience forgets about them not wanting to play a more hardcore system because Nntendo cannot stay like that forever, they will try to go back to the core gamers, The core gamer will not go back to them. Because they have been treated like they don't exsist. They will be cautious about Nintndo, tryin to see if they still have it in them. Or has their company run its course. Few will try the system, but their games will fail. They will keep making their 500 mario games a year. The core gamers that grew up on Nintendo will be older unwilling to buy their system. The new gamers will one a better game formula than the tried and true formula of Mario, and Zelda. They will lose money and become bankrupt. They will be bought out by somebody. Then they will become like a Atari an oldcompany who has been reduced to making games. Only then wil they be truly dead. Even the evidence shows this isself evident. With over 80 games to the expande audience, and Less than 15 to the core gamers. It seems as Nintendo does not care about the past. Even they forgot how to please the core audience. Look at the Gamecube. A system devoted to core gamers. It was a huge failure. Its cost for the system was reduced to that of a Mcdonalds tou compared to the Consoles as they are really supposedto be priced. Never again will Nintendo provide a good gaming experince to the core gamers.
