Why use the WWI setting if they don't have a game that fits the setting? It looks to me like the setting was chosen to generate interest, and then they tried to work around it.
If they couldn't make a fun WWI game, maybe they should have tried something else.
@dylan35: Of course it's a game, I'm not disputing that. If you mean that "it's just a game", then they shouldn't have tried to tell the story so seriously, it just makes all of those crazy scenarios ridiculous.
It's like how in "Tomb Raider", the story portrayed Lara as a normal woman going through horrific events, and then a second after the cutscene, she is suddenly a walking death machine.
I have no idea about the multiplayer, but the single player looks absolutely ridiculous.
If people enjoy this, more power to them, but if I was relying on this as a trustworthy source to where to spend my hard earned money, I'd be pissed.
A walking tank with a minigun running around, murdering dozens of people and shooting down bombers in WWI, are you kidding me?
A plane that can repair itself in mid air while shooting down plane after plane, and single handedly destroys an entire array of AA guns. Is this a joke I don't get? Is it some kind of a psychological test to see how much BS gamers could swallow?

I've backed this, and I'm looking forward for this very much. I've been waiting for this kind of game for very long. I've played the old RPGs again and again, and after so many years, there is a renaissance in these games and I'm very stoked.
