Companies charging for online play for used games

I read a quote on another board here which kind of bugged me

I completely support them. They aren't evil. They aren't trying to cheat us out of our money. They just want to be compensated for their hard work and dedication.

Isn't this what we are trying to get away from. capitalism and greed. So what this guy is basically saying is i support these huge conglomerates but i don't respect gamestop or the consumers hard work and dedication? I pay to be online. I have my internet bill right here. M$ is also charging me to go on xbox live. Now I pay $60 for a game that was previously purchased and owned and i have to pay an additional $10 to play it online even though this game i purchased was advertised to have online play. The stock market drops again today. And these huge conglomerates are completely out for themselves and their own best interest and you wonder why. I'm here paying $3 a gallon for gas. Not to be a socialist because i'm really not. I'm more open minded and independant with my own principles, but this is concerning to me. whatever happeend to power to the people? You have these huge corporations being compeltely selfish. Is EA really slumming it and MS where they need to charge for this stuff? They were compensated for their hard work when their game was purchased.

Where am I wrong here? Isn't this why Obama was elected but I'm seeing the complete opposite? They were compensated for their hard work when their game was purchased.

It's stuff like this that makes me not want to buy games at all. If I do I don't have money to get anything else or try out other games and support other companies, because it's all in EA's and M$'s pocket.
