The World Ends With You is amazing. Seriously, if you have a DS and like RPGs dont pass up this game. I didnt think it was my kind of game at first and hadnt planned on picking it up. But I would have missed out on the best DS game out there IMO.
The story is really entertaining. It kept me captivated with its twists, literally there were places where I was like "Whoa! I didnt see that coming!". The characters had some complexity and grew throughout the game.
The gamplay was unique. It was quite difficult at the begining to figure out how to control two characters at once, but once you get the hang of it, it was throughly enjoyable to switch attention from one screen to the other. The pins and clothing system was decent, but the food system was great. I think the idea of the food to boost your stats was a great idea and gave you some control of how your characters would be. I found a certain set of pins worked the best for me and pretty much stuck with them for the majority of the game.
I loved the music in this game. It got stuck in my head. It was cool to collect the different songs and have the choice of what to listen to in the game menu. I also loved the graphics style of this game.
Ok now for spoiler stuff :D
DO NOT read if you dont want to know stuff about the story as well as the ending!
Nooooo! Joshua was the Composer? He was my favorite partner! Bad Joshua, Bad! Dang I really hadnt seen that coming...I was starting to think it was odd that both Shiki and Beat were there and Joshua wasnt. But then when he got captured too, I really didnt suspect at all. And he did kill Neku! Ugggh! This game had so many twists and turns, it really kept you on the edge of your seat. The ending was just like the rest of the game: awesome :D It was cool how they changed the title in the ending because of the changes Neku went through
Well now I can replay the chapters and get all the extra stuff :D
