A Platinum Update with a Random Shiny!

Level: 43 (100%) ~ I know that's what it says when I'm logged in, but since it always rounds the exact percentage to the nearest whole number, I'm actually at 99.58%; guess I'll reach Level 44 this week after all.:P Anyway, I'm happy to report that I was able to get on to TV.com today, so I'm posting a regular blog entry.:D The entirety of the main section will actually be composed of a Platinum update, but it's definitely not a usual one. Don't know what I mean? Read on to see.;)

I actually had a chance to get on Pokemon Platinum last Sunday.:o Believe it or not, it was the first time I played it since mid-to-late August.:P My main motivation to get on again was the fact that the Oak's Letter Wi-Fi Event is going on right now. So I got Oak's Letter, meaning I'll have a chance to catch a Lv. 30 Shaymin if I meet up with Prof. Oak on Rt. 224. Since I'm still in the midst of my quest to get the ultimate Togekiss, though, I won't be going there for a while.:P Speaking of which, I've made some good progress in Togekiss' training today, and even managed to finish it.:D I pitted it against Medicham and Abomasnow on Mt. Coronet until it reached Lv. 40, then took its training over to Victory Road where I had it battle Floatzel, Rhydon, Azumarill, and the occasional Golbat and Graveler until it reached Lv. 50.

And now for the big news: while I was in the midst of training Togekiss in Victory Road, the astonishing awesomeness happened. I encountered a Shiny Rhyhorn! There was no way I wouldn't take advantage of such a rare find, so I kept throwing various Pokeballs at it (I didn't want to risk accidently KO'ing it by attacking) until I caught it with an Ultra Ball. I know that the chances of randomly encountering a Shiny Pokemon are 1 in 8192, so I got very lucky.:D This Rhyhorn was also the very first Shiny Pokemon I've randomly encountered in the wild since I randomly encountered (and caught) a Shiny Zubat while training for the Eterna Gym in my Diamond (or Pearl, I'm not positive which); and that was more than a year ago.

Back to the training news, I finally got my Togekiss to the level I want it at, so I taught it Roost. My next goal is to win 32 BP in the Battle Frontier so I can get the TM for Thunder Wave, and teach it to Togekiss. Once I do that, my goal of achieving the ultimate Togekiss will be achieved!:D

And that concludes this lengthy Platinum update.:P Since this is my first regular blog entry in a while, I'll post double the randomness, starting with the [Not So] Random Pokemon of the Day.

Rhyhorn (Japanese: サイホーン Sihorn) - The Spikes Pokemon. Its powerful tackles can destroy anything. It is too slow witted, however, to help people work.

Grovyle (Japanese: ジュプトル Juptile) - The Wood Gecko Pokemon. It lives in dense jungles. While closing in on its prey, it leaps from branch to branch.
