I might as well ask... What do people think about the wholeachievement idea?
- Is it only a trophy wall?
- Could it add to the fun, trying to find hidden achievements?
- Should some/all achievements be beneficial? (in a very small scale)
Please help us :)

In general, I find achievements rather intrusive and just annoying. "You beat the ****ing tutorial, now that is an achievement". But I suppose it comes down more to implementation. I would rather have an achievement system in which there were only a few achievements or so but each achievement was challenging to obtain.
- Could work, provided it makes sense, such as the community giving it to you. Remember your game is designed around the philosophy that everything in the world is crafted to you.
- In a sandbox game, your goal is to achieve what you yourself want to achieve, not follow goals set by some developer. However, achievements can help you set goals, but you should make sure that the emphasis is that the player should find her own goals.
- It could allow new cosmetic bonuses and maybe allow you to craft new decorative stuff. But nothing that will allow you to perform better than others.
Hmmm. I like achievements - no I love them! And them being there, dosn't mean that you have to follow to achieve them. As you say you'r self, in sandbox games YOU choose your own goals. Achievements is just one extra option for you. BUT, i dont agree that the achievements shall benefit you in anyway. Lets say that you get an achievement because you have discovered half the world (if that possible). Then i hope you dont get "Geography +2", but you get it whilst you explore and exactly because of the exploring.
That my point of view. Hope it helps :)
