My PS3 Collection Reviews

Tony Hawk's Project 8: Really liked it and finished it but not much incentive to get the Number 1 spot. Nail the Trick system is excellent. Score: 8

Splinter Cell: Double Agent: Not as good as previous games in the series IMO. I loved chaos theory but I have yet to finish or even get very far in DA. Based on my play experience so far... Score: 7.

Ninja Gaiden Sigma: Haven't finished this either. The combat system is very good though IMO very over-hyped. The visuals are also excellent but so many many things annoy me about this game that I just gave up playing. It wasn't the difficulty though it is slightly steep for my liking. It's the completely unnecessary animation when going through every single door creating a break in the action, the design of some of the levels especially the town, the ridiculously clunky controls when it comes to movement that isn't combat related. Just thinking of this game pisses me off and for that reason and the very good combat system it gets a fairly lenient 7. Definitely not deserving of 9-10s. Score: 7

Assassin's Creed: Really liked almost all aspects of the game though it didn't meet my expectations. Climbing and free-running in the beautiful cities was and still is an amazing experience and feels fresh every time you pick up the controls. I loved the story and loved it even more after looking up the meaning of the ending online. That's is one of my gripes about the game. I didn't mind looking up the research that the community did but most people who play the game won't bother and will a lot of the time leave the game feeling disappointed. I liked the combat system though I thought the boxing should have had counters. The missions did get old by the end of the game as did the unskippable pseudo-interactive cutscenes. And no free-roam at the end or at least the ability to save normally so that you're in the Holy Land when you load was a horrible oversight. Score: 8.5

Uncharted: Excellent game from start to finish. Beautiful visuals and fantastic gameplay. The story was amazing though I unfortunately knew about the twist before playing the game due to a lack of spoiler tags on another forum which ruined the surprise. However it didn't change my experience all that much and the fact that there are achievements and the Strange Treasure really completed the experience for me. Definite 9.5.

Oblivion: A really fantastic game. I've spent over 130 hours playing the game with 2 characters and I'm still loving it. I have two gripes. One is the loading times. I would enjoy the game so much more if they were quicker. I don't really mind them with fast-travelling but IMO there shouldn't be any when entering a town or when entering a house. My second is that the pointer isn't very accurate especially when picking stuff up from a table or when scanning a bookshelf. Some more work should have gone into it. However I still love this game and have it to thank for getting me used to the First-Person perspective which I didn't like before. I like the combat system, magic system, alchemy system and some of the quests are unforgettable. I have so much yet to do in this game and yet still don't mind taking the time to harvest crops from a farm I pass by. Score 9.5
