Frimmel No, I think in this case you're losing color range. RGB Limited gives you 16-235 RGB Full gives you 0-255 If you toggle your PS3 from limited to full on a LCD TV with a 10-12 bit panel. You will see a world of difference. You will see colors that you never saw before.

You lose a lot of color range when you set the PS3 to RGB Limited as opposed to RGB Full. Judging from these photos the PS3 is set to RGB Limited so you're only getting 16-235 as opposed to 0-255 with RGB Full.

I'm almost certain these screens were taken with the PS3 set on HDMI limited as apposed to full. It looks way too washed out.

Why does PS3 screens always look so washed out??? It does not look like that on my TV. My PS3 version looks like the 360 version. I don't understand why the PS3 version always looks so washed out on GS comparisons. Could it be the lack of HDMI full settings, I know if set the HDMI settings on HDMI limited it looks washed out. I don't think these are accurate comparisons as the PS3 has several HDMI settings to play with. Full, Limited, Superwhite, RGB, and etc etc.

I hope this will officially mark the end of the Glossy Finish Fad. Thank god. Welcome to the Thinkpad Matte Finish look. The most sophisticated look of all.
