Well looks like I am not only one wondering on the subject. Wanted add a bit of anemphasis. What I am VERYcuriousabout, why "reviews" in relation to games seems to matter more to theircommercialsuccessthen film or books. I can guess that it is so due to larger investment in the product (65$ vs. 10$) but is this the only thing? Why Superman can be critical flop but acommercialsuccess and I scramble to find a game that wasreviewedbelow 80% on metacritic but did well commercially. Whats the difference?

Answer is pretty simple. Games are software and rules on returningsoftwareare different.Openingthe pouch they give you means possibility of damage or that you ripped the software, to protect against that you have policy in place, such as this one!
I want to like it if I can get through the stupid level. Got any tips?
None of the Superman movies have been ranked as "masterpiece" and most of the summerblockbusterstaking in hundreds of millions areroutinelyreviews very average. There is number of books that is read by hundreds of thousands that are complete trash (look into the romance novel section). However once we move to games, if game is rated below 80 on metactiric - its a bust. Why is it so? I understand that there areparticularitiesof the games (broken controls can kill best looking game with best story or superior game play can be killed by bland presentation), but are there no "entertainmentvalue" inthoseproducts? We go to see summer blockbusters for thisentreatmentvaluein spiteofmediocrescripts and acting. We do so cose we see that value in CGI, costumes, music and what not. Once we turn to games it is all or nothingattitude. If you are not perfect, you are not worthy. Points for discussion:
- Is it possible and how to change the way reviews are written andperceived?
- Do games between 5-8 out of 10 have any value?
- Can games that havemerit, but technical issues, be fixed?
Somethingto talk about, fire away!
..... not sure, but the last FF MMORPG is quickly becoming the proverbial last nail in the coffin :(
3rd mission in, my buddy Dusty asks me "not to jump the gun and wait for OPFor to separate" - well I am waiting for 12 hours now - WHEN THE F ARE WE GONNA SEPARATE. I am trying so hard to like MoH (just to spite all the "There is no shooter but CoD shooter" croud. But boy am I holding on to the last thread :(
Anyone has same issues? Any advice how to fix it????
