At the beginning of October, I was looking for things to do to celebrate the Halloween season. I was too shy to ask people I knew if they wanted to create a haunted house for trick-or-treaters, so I looked online to see if there were any volunteer opportunities for Halloween events in my city. After a lengthy search, I found a posting saying that volunteers were needed to help out waitresses at a retirement home during a dinner-and-a-show Halloween event, which is being held this Friday.

After e-mailing the person in charge of volunteers, she asked me to a 15 minute phone interview for this Thursday afternoon or the next Friday morning. I e-mailed her back with a suggested time and am now awaiting her response.

Does anyone have any tips or advice? Should I not be too worried about if she wants to talk so shortly before the event? I was wondering if it’s a good idea to mention that one of the reasons I want to volunteer for this is to be around other people celebrating the Halloween season. Does it make it seem like I won’t take the work very seriously?

Here is my position. This upcoming Halloween, I want to create a scary/haunted looking environment for Halloween. I was thinking this would either be for a Halloween party or a fixed path for trick-or-treaters on Halloween night. My issue is that I don’t have friends that I can do this with at their houses/apartments or wherever. Also, since I wouldn’t be a very good host for a party I think my best bet would be something for trick-or-treaters.

There is at least 5 months left before Halloween. This might seem like a strange situation, but how can I find someone who would want to do this with me at their places? I’m living with my parents right now and they don’t want me doing this to their home as they’ll be busy and I don’t want them in the background because I want this to feel real.

I’ve been playing Super Mario 64 since the 90s and I only noticed this sometime last or this year. I did another play-through of Super Mario 64 and I noticed that in Hazy Maze Cave, if Metal Mario is not moving in the yellow fog, he coughs... It took a while for me to notice that because usually you’re running through the hazy maze with the metal cap before it runs out, but just this once I decided to stop and look around and I noticed he was actually coughing lol

Has anyone else noticed this years before I did?

I have a ton of GameCube and Wii games that I haven’t played yet. I also have a Switch. I have an interest in working in the video game industry in the future. It’s just an idea right now. Do you think I should get rid of those Gamecube and WIi games and find Switch or other current-generation alternatives? What are the main differences between this generation video games and the gen of Gamecube and Wii? Better graphics and better AI? For example, I really want to play Okami and Fragile Dreams: Farewell Ruins of the Moon for Wii but while I’m playing I might feel like I’m wasting my time and should be playing newer games.

What do you guys think?
