[QUOTE="Me-Ur-Daddy"][QUOTE="darrowby88"][QUOTE="DaddyDC650"]Every sunday I like to check the paper for all the new ads. I've noticed that a lot retailers seem to be giving away free games with every purchase of an Xbox 360 console. If it's selling so well, why would they bother to include a free game? Also, retailers rarely advertise that they have Sony PS3's in stock. In my opinion, this is most likely because it is selling so well that they do not need to spend cash on ads. Again, this is only my opinion and if you're not a blind fanboy, do not bother responding. For the record, I own both consoles. jaminnbnif youve ever taken a marketing class, youd know that stores dont package deals (free games w/ a 360) if the item is not in high demand. they do the deal because the demand is high and they want you to buy the system at their store (because you'll buy it where you can). conversely, there is no point in advertising something that wont sell, nonetheless add on free stuff. the free stuff is just because they kow if you dont buy it at their store, then youll buy it somewhere else, and the free game is just an extra incentive i see you failed the class... I see you failed the class also... (p.s. the first guy was right)No hes not.
[QUOTE="SunLord592"]they actually dont advertise for the ps3 because its not a "HOT" buy. that is why. there is no point in advertising for something, that is not selling like hot cakes. i still find flyers advertising for the Wii and therer never in stock. the ps3 is never advertised because it does not have a big demand. the 360 however is advertised, like you said, stores like to give out one free game with the purchase of the 360. they would advertise that to promote there sale. if they dont advertise it then know one wil know about it, which would mean no sales. sure u can flip that on me and make it positive towards the ps3, but the ps3 is selling a very low margin comapared with the 360 and Wii.Why would they not advertise an item that is not selling well? The point of advertising is to get folks to buy the product. Not to ignore the product and have it sell even worse. I'm guessing that they're giving away free games with Xbox 360's because they either have too many in stock or have noticed a drop in 360 purchases. Thanks for the post but your logic is flawed. That's not the way it works at all. Sony is the one that has to advertise for their console if it's not selling well. The point of the flyers is to get you in the store. If they could get you in the store it is likely that you will buy other things than just what they put on the ad. You need to learn more about advertising, cause all they wan't is traffic in the store.
thats my 2 cents, take it or leave it :)
