I don't believe you played the game.

@MegamanX97: You are guaranteed when you have a AAA game developer at your back. Say Naughtydog, Ark Systems Work, Blizzard, From Software, Bungie, Rockstar North, Santa Monica Studios (to name a few)... they always deliver, You can't expect a mediocre game from these developers

@csward: Xenoverse is not a real fighting game... it is super unbalanced to be considered for competitive gameplays, in mixes RPG elements, it milks characters (you can have 100+ characters but most of the play the same).

This game has been developed by a renown AAA fighting games developer unlike past DBZ games, the game is balanced and probably will evolve and be competitive enough for eSports and tournaments like EVO. Simply put... FighterZ is a real fighting game.

@stealthyoctopus: GT is not considered canon by Dragon Ball's creator Akiro Toriyama.

This is the main reason why fighterz (and even manga, anime and movies) don't even consider referencing GT at all, in other words.. GT is non existent on the official Dragon Ball timeline.

@mighty-lu-bu: What @mighty-lu-bu said...

Budokai and Burst limit are fighting games but they are not considered competitive, they aren't balanced for competitive gameplay. Burst Limit, correct me if im wrong, has around double the amount of characters that Fighterz has.

If what you want is to have all you fav characters, don't care about gameplay and playing a balanced competitive fighter, then you should look for a different game, maybe Xenoverse as suggested.

As mentioned before, the focus on this game is completely different in comparison to past DBZ games, in this case having many character doesn't mean quality. This is why this game is gaining so much attention from gamers othen than just Dragon Ball fans....

Based on Arc System Work (the developers behind fighters) previous work, this game will probably end up being the highest rated DBZ game of all time (hopefully) and will generate years and years of eSport, league seasons and more (crossing fingers here).

EDIT: Just to give you and idea, it has been reported that in character in fighters takes around to 3 months to develop (this consideres character design, move set and gameplay balance). Take this in consideration for a roster of 100 characters...

@mighty-lu-bu: Again... Budokai 3 and Bust limit are not considered competitive fighters. Yes, those games had a lot of characters, but mostly all of them shared the same fighting moves with a little variety on super moves.

This is not the case with this game though, each character will feel unique in mostly all of its moves, and it will be considered a competitive fighting game for eSports tournaments and events like EVO.

The scope for this game is completely different in comparison to previous games and this is the reason why is gaining so much attraction from many gamers other than only DBZ fans... especially the fighting game communities and pro gamers.

EDIT: So yeah, this game in comparison to past DBZ games will need more balancing efforts from the developers to keep the game up for competitive gameplay, that is why adding a new character to the game takes much more effort than in past games. This is why the roster is smaller but much more richer than past games as well.

IMO, they are not milking the franchise, they are doing a better job than in past integrations... plus the game its being developed by a AAA developer.

@mighty-lu-bu: buddy, past DBZ games had soo many characters because most of them had same moves, were clones, and were not real competitive fighters.

This is a real competitive fighting game developed by a renown developer. Each character will be unique in its own way, thats the reason why there aren't that many characters, because each one is polished on its own, and balanced as much as possible.
