I really think people are taking for granted just how amazing this game looks and feels. It's not perfect, and it doesn't cater to the hardcore Battlefield audience... but why does it have to? I love that this game exists... I'm a hardcore gamer, but I also value a laid back and accessible gaming experience: it adds balance to an otherwise exhausting landscape of intensity. There are so many games that appeal to my hardcore nature, the market honestly doesn't need another one right now. I'm glad EA went this route with Star Wars... it's true to the movie in more ways than just audio and visual. Star Wars as a film(s) is not a deep journey to the center of moral/ethical issues... it's fluff... it's really beautiful fluff. When I watched those films I asked people "have you seen Star Wars"?..... and what I really meant was, have you SEEN Star Wars. Those movies are serious eye candy... and they are light, and fun... and easy going. That's what this game is. I understand those people who don't like it. I got a refund from EA after 10 hours of game play. But once it was gone, I really missed having that casual easy going experience to break up the intensity of the other games in my library. So what did I do?.... went back and bought it again, with all the DLC. SWBF is like having a kick ass arcade machine in your living room, and there's nothing quite like it in this genre. EA/DICE took a serious risk with approach... this is not their first rodeo. Personally I think they've struck gold... but doing so meant shunning the expectations of many Battlefront fans (myself included). If you're a hardcore gamer you'll have to find a way to relax those tense muscles, forget all the unlocks and nuances, and just sit back and enjoy the ride. The ability to jump in and have fun quickly is lost on today's gamers... for me, it feels like a breath of fresh air. I'm glad the Star Wars universe I always wanted doesn't have hardcore BF4/CSGO snipers at the gate barring my capacity for enjoyment, because this is something every gamer should experience.
