The typical MMORPG player situation is that they start making relationships without much care of giving a bad impression. The problem is that as the time goes by, the player starts to take much more care about his virtual character than his own person. This turns into an impersonal attitude and a rennouncement to lots of avtivities (in the real life) just to spend a little more hours playing. In cases like WOW the game has turned so competitive that the player feels chained to the pc because, as in real life, he aims to achieve every quest (goals) that comes up. And so (as in real life) the incessant feeling of competing with others. Summarizing, MMORPG addicted players start to give up their real lifes to play their virtual ones.
Due the huge variety of games and consoles that are on the market nowadays, addiction is really common to find. The worst case is the children addiction. They try to imitate the game because they reach a point where they don't distinguish reality from fiction or (in most of the teenage cases) they are not satisfied with their true person. I think that PARENTAL CONTROL is the key.
