"A well-equipped PC beats both consoles easily--of course, that same PC also costs three to four times more than either of the consoles." Hmm. So I can have 2 xbox360s and 2 ps3s or one computer. Or maybe I'll take one 360, 0ne ps3 , a 52" 1080p Samsung LCD with a side order of fries... "For the consoles, we captured all of our images over HDMI with games running at 720p resolution, and we enabled full HDMI range on the PS3. " So in other words, the xbox 360 was choked down to 720p, and the PS3 was running its max HDMI capability. I definitely sense an imbalance in this "comparo" ... Its like running a BMW M3 against a Toyota Tercel... Even though I KNOW pc graphics are superior. But damn, nothing beats playing xbox live using a nice wireless controller, while sitting in front of a bigass 1080p with a freshly opened beer.
I agree with some of the posts regarding graphics, frame rates and hardware. Xbox 360 looks better in general in most of these comparisons. There new LIVE operating system is incredible, and the new layout and avatar features are fun. I use my PS3 for Blu ray movies, Metal Gear Solid 4 and Little Big Planet. I read that the new 360s are using a smaller microprocessor which is increasing reliability in the better gaming choice of the two systems. PS3 is still priced too high, and now that blu ray players are going down to $150, look for a cheaper PS3 in early 2009 to improve there slumping sales.
