PS4 is going to POUND the competition into irrelevance even more this year. It's scary...

Taking into account GS left off many games that will come out in 2016 I doubt they even make lists for xbox one and wii U. I can see an xbox one list being good but it's just going to look vastly inferior next to this PS4 list which they've already posted.

This is the Xbone list:

http://www.gamespot.com/gallery/xbox-one-game-exclusives-confirmed-for-2016/2900-434/

They had to really scrape the bottom of the barrel and included Killer Instinct Season 3. Meanwhile they forgot quite a few PS4 exclusives, which is understandable with how many there are.

What I'm looking forward to:

  • Uncharted 4: A Thief's End
  • Horizon: Zero Dawn
  • NieR: Automata
  • Street Fighter V
  • The Last Guardian
  • Firewatch
  • Alienation (surprised I'm not seeing more hype since it's from the devs that gave us the best launch title this gen and it's releasing soon)
  • No Man's sky
  • Persona 5
  • The Tomorrow Children
  • Shadow of the Beast
  • Drawn to Death (the beta was really fun and it's F2P anyways)
  • Ni-Oh
  • Yakuza 0
  • Yakuza 6

thx, this is helpful

@playharderfool: aren't half these games on PC?

lol, sorry but no they aren't.

I made special mention to point out that GS didn't make mention of the PC to console titles, that said, you are trying to hard if you want to make it seem like most or even half of those games are on PC because they're not.

"Exclusives". Lol.

lol, now no one can criticize my list.

http://www.gamespot.com/forums/system-wars-314159282/1st-half-of-2016-what-each-console-looks-like-with-32897342/

I felt I was being pretty impartial, now even more so. Either way it's a great year for PS4 owners as games like Star Ocean F&I, King of the Fighters XIV, Final Fantasy XV, Street Fighter V and Nier Automata top the charts of most anticipated games of 2016 and PS4 is the only system that can play them all with no exception.

  7. Ratchet and Clank
  8. The Tomorrow Children

  19. The Witness
  20. Paragon
  21. Ni-Oh
  22. Yakuza 0
  23. Yakuza Kiwami
  24. Yakuza 6

Happy?

Despite being my most hyped game on PS4 and having the vast majority of gamers play on PS4, Street Fighter V is not exclusive.

That said, Street Fighter V will have the absolute impact of an exclusive in retail markets and anyone who prefer consoles as their go to place to play games.

IMO Street Fighter V being console exclusive to PS4 is going to be the most devastating blow to xbox one over any of the other titles here. It's like when Madden was exclusive to PS2 and not available on Dreamcast, that literally killed the console. Regardless of sales, a title like SF V being console exclusive to PS4 is going to be red light to anyone thinking about buying xbox one in 2016.

No Japanese games are often behind in the technical aspect

Please explain this? People say things that mean absolutely nothing and just leave it up in the air.

I don't know what your technical means but 2 generation's old Final Fantasy 12 is still in better technical aspects then most RPGs coming out today.

If you'd like to share what you mean by "technical aspect" I'm all ears.

These are multi-plats some of these games not exclusive. I don't know why GameSpot feels the need to try and trick gamers.

I'd defiantly say that the PC to PS4 games are not exclusive. Even Sony doesn't strictly call them exclusive they make it a point to call them console exclusive. For the brand exclusives I can understand a bit more since they could just say "playstation" but the PC versions are not an option an option for that definition.

What I don't understand is why people insist on calling it Persona V, when it is very clearly Persona 5.

Trendy?

@charizard1605: I'm not home any longer so I can't fully check but just last year we had Witcher 3, undertale, and divinity of the top of my head and that's already comparable to the list of JRPG games going back all the way to 2012 to achieve a overall rating of AAA, it's not really comparable between the 2 in the grand scheme of things

Divinity is a 2014 game. Undertale, sure, you can include that if you want, we both know it plays more like a JRPG than it does a WRPG, but we'll take that. So that's two.

In 2014, we had one game- Divinity. In 2013, no WRPG was AAA.

If you want to use these metrics, it goes both ways, like I said.

How does it go both ways, when your listing years that JRPGs had pretty much no presence in that tier of gaming. Between this gen and last we have had:

Witcher 3, undertale, divinity, mass effect 3 (2013), mass effect 2, mass effect 1, deus ex, fallout 3, elder scrolls skyrim, oblivion, Dragon Age

vs

Dark souls, dark souls 2, bloodborn, Xenoblade Chronicles(wii), Fire emblem(3ds), persona 4 golden(ps2 remaster)

----------------------------------------------------------------------

If it wasn't for one developer (from software) the JRPG side would be almost non existent when looking at games that would be considered to have had a large impact for their respected generations.

When was the last time a JRPG outside of darksouls has been recieved as an AAA game, just this year alone we have had several AAA WRPGs.

ok?

What am I suppose to do with your "ok?" comment? lol

List padding much?

Dude you went all the way back to Mass Effect ONE! Ha now you are the one who is getting despeate and making massive efforts to omit games for your argument. if you want to go back then lets list the games for Japan that also count

Demon's Souls, Ni No Kuni, Dark souls, The Last Story, dark souls 2, Bloodborn, Xenoblade Chronicles, Fire emblem, persona 4, Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate

Also desperately trying to eliminate a developer because they don't fit your argument purpose doesn't help your case. Many consider FromSoft to be the best at making iron clad type RPGs that western developers have been known for. If Western devs are so good, how come it took a Japanese dev to show them what it takes to make it good?

The makers of the highly hyped western RPG The Witcher series are on record saying that Demon's Souls gave them inspiration to go back to the drawing board and try to make their next game more like what FromSoft created after their first game. What? NOT a western dev but Japanese? Yep so your favorite western developers favorite developers are Japanese and try to make their games more like what they made.

Euphoria Engine is excellent for realistic body physics and hit reaction. I think Max Payne 2 was pretty impressive for its time too. It still feels great.

That looks terrible really.

Doesnt excuse 2 years of nothing, maybe they should have released the ps4 in 2016 when it was ready.

-looks at his PS4 games compared to his Xbox One games- uh yeah, nothing~

How about comparing it to a good console.

-compares his PS4 games to his PS2 games- ...............SHIT!

If you have to leave this generation to deal with his gripe about PS4 then he has a losers argument to begin with.
