-Chapter 3, Hangin' with my bro-
This chapter will be a small one in events, but big in details, since it only deals with the last two days. I would have waited longer for more stuff to write about, but since this isn't about what happened a while ago, I'm gonna have less to write about.
So it started when my bro got a call from the buisness he works for. (I'm not going to say because it's not something to talk about online and he could get fired :p) He had to go to Swan River and Dauphin, MB to do his work. Just temporarily, of course, we weren't moving. He also wanted a job at Mauville and Yorkton, SK, because that would have mean't double pay and it wasn't that out of the way. Unfortunately they found someone to do it for less and he didn't get the job. Oh well, that just meant less driving. So we went out, me properly packed with a change of clothes, my DS, food and drinks, a book, pillows and other necessities for traveling, my brother, he had a spare pair of shorts and his laptop. My mother had to beg him to at least take another t-shirt and his toothbrush (which looks like the before picture on one of those frizzy-hair commercials). The trip wasn't too bad, a six hour drive. My brother brought along the power converter and his laptop charger so we could watch movies on his laptop. Good idea. We stopped in Dauphin so he could do his job, and ate some wraps from a nearby resauraunt, the Dari-Dip. I swear the person behind the counter was gay. Either that or a woman, I couldn't tell. So we got back on the road, and got to Bowsman, which is just a short drive from Swan River. Wow. I was just there like 2 days ago, seriously. But it always seems as though you had just been there yesterday. The mail is still in the same spots, the chairs haven't been rearranged, the stack of old hats in the corner is still there, the gum wrapper, you hid behind a picture is also there, nothing changes. I swear, I have no idea how my grandparents keep themselves occupied. My garndpa watches Coronation Street and the weather, as well as listens to the radio and plays cards. My grandmother is even worse. She hates TV and the radio. She never watches or listens to either. To my knowledge, she cooks and plays cards and takes care of the neighborhood kitties. So after spending the night, we decided to take a drive up to the lake. It was gorgeous when we got there. We decided, it was so nice, that we would go for a long walk along the beach. While we were still in a stones throw of safety, my brother asked if those big rain clouds were coming for us. My Papa, always the weatherman, said oh no, they're already past us, they'll blow over. Sure enould, approaching the turning point of our walk, it started raining. And not your usual, summer drizzle rain, it seemed as though there was this great canopy up in the sky and someone decided to empty it on us. Great. In the midlle of nowhere and no cellphone reception. I'm gonna skip the rest because it's boring and soaked. So my Mom phones us from home and says the provicial rugby team needs players for its brandon tournament. They say they need me. I say, no. I figure, why should I take a chunk out of my relaxing summer just so I can go play a stressful game with people I don't know or don't like and for a coach that I think is a goof. Hah. I know Evan will be on my ass for that, but whatever. So heading home, we were filled with hotdogs and chili, my bro did his job in Swan River, and we headed home. Oh my brother went to a pawn shop and bought some CD's. One of them was entitled, "Alapalooza". It was a "weird Al" CD. Wow. None of the songs were decent and we threw it out the window upon completing it. The best song was Harvey the Wonder Hamster because it was only 34 seconds long. We watched Dodgeball and Orange County on the way back and I played my DS. It was quiet because we decided to go at night and it was nice. So we arrived at home, at one in the morning, and I was frazzled. I still am. I should be in bed or doing something equally mind numbing. I'm tired. I've been travelling too much. Whatever. Until next time.
