I'm asbolutely not trolling...

I'm mainly worried about my files getting erased...and of course, this won't help my gaming addiction. :P

Well, this was very unexpected. I thought I was safe from stuff like this, and it was only the 360 that suffered from major defects such as this, but apparently I was wrong. After a long gaming session, my ps3 crashed and I get the YLOD. Obviously it overheated, but will someone physically have to repair it? Will I have to send it in to Sony, or attempt to repair it myself? (Not sure if this can be discussed here...if not, feel free to edit this out...I just REALLY don't want Sony wiping my harddrive...) Will it cool down and sort itself out after awhile? I've heard of this happening to people, but it's been all day now.

Anyway, have any other PS3 users here had this? How did you fix it? Not only will it be expensive and/or time consuming, but there's a good chance I'll lose everything. Guess this is what my PC's for...

Gears 2 had a decent campaign, very poorly handled Multiplayer, albeit very rewarding and very team-based.

UC 2 is bound to surpass it. Plus it's like 1 year and a half old.

Dead-Memories

This is about how I feel.

There's no doubt that there have been many, many threads on this subject, but I'm new here, so I haven't seen them.

After watching a few videos on uncharted 2, reading some reviews, and discussing it in other forums, it seems like this might be the ps3's comeback at Gears 2.

They're both 3rd person, and share a lot of gameplay similarities. But it seems Uncharted 2 will beat it in nearly every category. Graphics, gameplay, multiplayer, it even has a horde mode that to me, seems like it will surpass that of Gears. The thing is, Gears has very slow movement, and you can't really jump or do any acrobatics. UC2 is the opposite. Climbing buildings, hanging from signs...etc.

What do you think? I realise I'll get a lot of criticism for this thread, but so be it. :P

Any other help?

Frenzyd109

Obviously not if you've decided on the XPS...

That was if no one had any reason why I shouldn't. ;)

Actually I can get the XPS with the 4670, which is what I'd be getting. I've heard that this laptop is good, and I've seen videos of it running Crysis Warhead on Medium High.

I'm back asking about computers again.

I'm wanting one for gaming, homework, and just browsing the internet. Pretty casual stuff.

I'm looking at the Dell Studio XPS 16 and the Alienware M17.

And please don't tell me to buy me a desktop, I need a laptop.

Building a computer would be so much better. For 1000$ assuming you have a moniter, keyboard and mouse, and if you use Windows 7. You could get a i7 build, x58 mobo, ddr3 ram, probably raid hdds, a nice case such as the cosmos, or the cm690, a nice corsair or thermatake psu, and a high ends video card.

For about 850$ ( This was 4? months ago) I got a Cm690, Western Digital 320Gb Hd, Dvd Drive, Windows 7, Xfx Hd 4890, Q9400, EP45 Motherboard and a 750TX Corsair PSU.

RedxSniper

I know it would. But I need a laptop, and I wouldn't just be using it for gaming. After some research I think this'll be just fine. I would be able to run Crysis Warhead on medium high, so that means I could probably run a lot of games I'd want to use it for.
