Personally, I generally do not purchase digital games. The only ones I purchase are ones with steep discounts or aren't available in physical form. I can see digital being a viable option only for games that have little to no trade in value. In EA's case this would include their sports games. Most of them do not have a high trade in value since they're annual releases. And with having to install physical disks anyway, having the disk is way more convenient. Also, when I need space on my drive, I can delete a game and re-install it from the disk if I ever want to play it again without having to wait for a lengthy download. As gamers, we should all be sticking to or primarily sticking to physical medium.
Having never played these when they were out and not owning a PS3, I'd definitely buy it on the PS4. Without a way to play the previous games, I'd be less likely to buy 3 as well.
@consolehaven: They've tried this before and got burnt badly. Although, lately they've been using outside developers for creating specific in game resources. I suppose if enough trust and oversight is built up in one of these developers we could see them being used for full games.
