The Orange Is In The Box

I recently bought The Orange Box yesterday and gosh, this is one of the greatest deal in the video game industry ever. Five games in one box. How cool is that? First you have three games of Half-Life 2, a new multiplayer game called Team Fortress 2 and of course, the strange quirky FPS puzzle game called Portal.

Orange In A Box

Portal is such an interesting game and I had a great time playing it from start to finish. The game is kinda short but that's the way it's supposed to be. It's meant to be short and the game is superb either way. You're basically this nameless, mute female...volunteer who wakes up in a strange laboratory-kinda room and you are ordered to finish some puzzles with a portal gun. The first few stages weren't that hard but later on, it gets a bit tough. Overall it's an easy game and it doesn't have any punishing and frustrating parts in it which is great. The ending is kinda cool especially the credit scene because they have this neat music in it. I love it! It's so catchy and funny. I couldn't stop laughing cos the lyrics were so funny and the beat was excellent.

This game consists of three Half-Life 2 games. I have yet to finish Half-Life 2 since I've never finished since it last came out a few years ago. I just got bored with it. Yes, sure the graphics are great and the shooting sequence is neat but the plot is kinda dry. Gordon Freeman doesn't have any personality, he's a freakin mute and so the game kinda lacks soul. What a shame. Hopefully Episodes One and Two will be much better. Half-Life 2 is a science fiction game so weird stuff is of course, an expected thing to occur, but there's just one thing that really bugs me because it doesn't make any sense. Despite having Gordon Freeman blasting lots of lots of enemies, climbing through all kinds of obstacles and been through hell and beyond...how come his glasses never breaks?!
