i just installed cod4 demo, as i was opening it it crashed/was unable to boot. this happened several times, does anyone know what could be happening (my system meets the recommended system requirements and i'm using vista)
[QUOTE="catlin_czirr"]Wow this is insane just to run games like Crysis at playable framerates, when games that look almost as good (killzone 2) are on a $400 console. Something is wrong here.psyko_Reaper
wrong
not even with a qx9775 oced like $h*t, 3 ultras in sli and 4gigs of ram ur able to max out crysis and have smooth framerates. So $1000+ processor, $250+ mobo, about $2000 vga's and $200 plus ram can max out crysis. I'd say it's pretty useless then
sorry, i meant can't

if u don't intend to use wireless network buy the non-wi-fi version of that mb. Raptor's good if u don't wanna store truckloads of stuff in there, but i would go for a 200gig or 300gig hd, as they tend to be cheaper. Geil and Teamgroup both have very stable, reliable, overclockable and cheap ram, so the u'll be mostly paying the brand when buying the corsair (buy a cheaper ram now and upgrade later, especially if u plan to overclock, squeeze the cheap stuff first until u get the hang of it). if u don't want to overclock u can lose the cpu cooler, the vga is good if ur don't want to spend a lot of money, but i would go fotr the hd3850, it's a lot better and still cheap.
all this and building the rig urself could net u a good gamming pc for about 1000dlrs
maybe it's just the drivers, if not i don't know what ati is doing wrong to have higher clocks and still a crapy performance (lack of shader clock? (warning ati noob and nvidia fanboy))
seriously now, crossfirex seems a great idea, but i think nvidia will copy it soon enough, so don't go that way. for a card that had that whole lot of potential on paper it seems like the hd3870 is just a hd2900 (i think we're missing something here)
