OnLive - The Future is Now

I remember years ago reading about Onlive. I thought it was a joke. I could never see myself ever wanting to use such a service, but after doing a little reading and even playing some games using OnLive on my PC I can truely say this is a great thing. My current computer is a Toshiba Satallite running windows vista with 4gb ram. I have a hard time running Guild Wars at good settings. With OnLive i was running Darksiders beautifully and had no lag at all. It was magical. Even fast paced shooters such as Unreal Tournament 3 ran flawlessly with gorgeous graphics (50/10 kd ^^). I never thought my computer would even be able to handle such games and now with OnLive it is a gaming BEAST! I now have a portable monster machine. It is amazing. I had to go and pre-order the home 'console' version of OnLive after playing with it on my computer. I've seen some videos on YouTube talking about lag, but honestly I found very little lag. When I tried to play Trine however the cursor seemed to lag, but the key input was fine... so I think it may just be the game, I'm not really sure.

There are a couple things I am worried about for the future of OnLive such as third party support (they need more games) and the possibility for lag if too many gamers end up using at once (i.e it probably couldn't handle CoD BO at this point). Though these worries persist I believe they will never get in the way of the enjoyment that OnLive brings to the table. There are too many pros to really get too worked up over the cons just yet. OnLive is definatly something to keep an eye one... and the home console version is coming out just in time for Christmas! I really hope people give it a chance because I believe it will revolutionize gaming.
