give us history on these places... let us know why the thing is here other
than "go get this" .... thats my 2 cents

I completely agree.
I think one of the reasons OoT was so succesful was becuase you truly became a part of Hyrule. You knew what places were called, where they were, why they were there, who lived where, the history of the temples, the magic behind them, etc. I agree with you. in TP, everything was forced. I thought TP had a wonderful story, great cinematics, loveable characters, real emotions, etc. But the thing is, the actually dungeons were definitely very forced. Granted, the way TP worked was much faster than OoT. In OoT, you were explained from the get-go why you were doing everything, why everything is happening, and what is happening. In TP, the story just came out of no where, which i liked. I liked the fact that link, an innocent farmer was thrown into the middle of a war between realms, at first, it created a sense of thrill, not knowing whats coming next, everything happened so fast, no time for questions or explanations.
And that was great for the beginning, but by the time you got to Death Mountain, they really should've taken a step back and slowed down a bit, explained things more. I mean i thought the mystery behind Zant was awesome, the sudden twist, that was great, i actually didn't expect that at all. I originally expected Zant himself to be Ganondorf in desguise, because his coat is similar to the coat that ganondorf wears in the Wind Waker.
But yeah in the new zelda game, story should play a more important role than it did in TP.
In WW, the story was there, it was great, it was told very well too, and it had a strong role. All you felt was history, because of all the history under the ocean.
But in TP, not much there.
THe only time i felt a sense of history was when you were in the sacred grove and the temple of time was there, destroyed, covered in grasses and stuff. Then it's like, yeah man.
BTW...I think ALTTP, OoT, and TP are in one timeline, not in that order necessarily, in fact i think it's not in that order, and OoT, WW, PH are another timeline.
I think the split happens with OoT, it's obvious it does.
Heres how i think it works, and im goin off on a tangent here buts its cool....
1. OoT, ending, Link goes back in time to be able to live his childhood (MM), in this timeline, we don't know what happens to ganondorf or anything. We just know that link leaves hyrule. Because of this, Hyrule is covered in the ocean. Its explained in WW..."here of time left for another adventure" thats gotta be MM, or i guess it could be like links awakening or something else, but i doubt it.
So OoT, MM, WW, than obviously PH and now ST.
2. OoT, then TP. OoT happens, link goes back in time for MM, but what happens with the timeline as link being a kid still? Here's what i think....
Link goes back to be able to live his childhood, leaves hyrule, and after MM events he returns to Hyrule, grows up, and faces Ganondorf the way he did at the end of OoT anyway. He defeats ganon, time goes on.
Than, the events of TP happen. Why? Because he wears the clothes of an ancient hero. Thats the link from OoT im thinking. Also, the temple of time is still there, still in tact somewhat, but starting to be taken over by the sacred grove. Here we see twilight the first time. Link defeats it and order is reset.
Time moves on more, now a link to the past happens. no more temple of time, but the sacred grove is there as is the master sword in the sacred grove. So, the temple of time completely dissappeared into the wood. The other version of the world in ALTTP is TWILIGHT. That's my theory. We saw in TP what happens to people in twilight, they become just spirits. Well, its sort of similar to people in ALTTP, they change form, they change shape, into animals and plants and objects. Link, the chosen one, or w/e, doesnt change shape. Why? same reason why link from TP can retain his form in twilight. Maybe in ALTTP, the twilight completely takes over and creates that other dimension.
So there.
That's my split timeline theory, one of many, and now we just gotta wait and see where this new zelda takes place, if its directly after TP with the same exact link, or a different link altogether on a different timeline, or what.
My hope, in all honesty, is that's a different link, either before or way after TP, or having nothing to do with TP, because since TP was the last console zelda, i don't want to see the same exact hyrule. Its gotta be different.
ANd i hope he's in hyrule, i dont want him in another world like in MM, it was cool but i want him in hyrule again.
Although, since they put an emphasis on no master sword, i wouldn't be suprised if this was a different place.
It would be cool if this took place before OoT, or maybe between OoT and WW, or something. Idk lol.
