Bump - Really hoping to hear something >.> As it stands I've been playing Pokemon Fire Red...which don't get me wrong, is fun, but I would rather play something else.

Have you played the Persona games on the PS2? Persona 3 and 4 have a very old school battle system while still having a very fresh story.rragnaar
I actually own Persona 4 because I had a friend say it was good. That was of course before I found out it was essentially an anime. Ya know, high school kids find out they're special, which I'm not...horridly adverse to. The issue comes in when they try to tell everyone to accept themselves and that everything is okay. I just wound up being a little disgusted with the game and highly lost interest in the story as it seemed to lose all of its flair. So with all that aside! I'll add in that though Last Remnant didn't exactly have all that great of a story, I still like that. Feed me the same old snack in a new package and I'll eat it right up.

So apparently I made my post in the wrong thread originally. So! I'm trying to find a new game to play, preferably an old school type of turn based game, such as Lost Odyssey, Last Remnant, FFVII, blah blah blah. I honestly wish Breath of Fire would come out with a new game that matched the old ones, like III...which was friggin' amazing. Anyway! I've gone through huge lists of games on GameSpot and I'm really sad to see the old style of JRPGs falling away. I have a backwards compatible PS3, Wii, and a 360 - Suggestions?

Alright, thank you kindly for responding. It still saddens me that the old jrpg style has kinda faded off...and Japan is being stingy about sending several games to America with that style >.> Makes me want to learn Japanese just to stick it to 'em. "Won't release it here!? FINE! I'll go and learn and entirely different language just to get it anyway!!!"

Alright, so I played Lost Odyssey and am just about to finish Last Remnant...just got shanked by the last boss and have to go grind until I can take him out, but anyway...I'm looking for a new game now. Preferably I would rather stay away from games like Infinite Undiscovery with its version of a combat system. I might go get Magna Carta II just because it looks a little more refined than the first. But yeah! Any suggestions? After a long time of looking around I'm going to go with Enchanted Arms and hope that by the time I'm done with it something else will pop up >.> But yeah, I just browsed all the role-playing games and was actually quite disappointed with the lack there of...at least for my desired genre. Which would be the little sub-genre of turn-based. Well even that isn't true...because Crono Trigger wasn't turn based but was awesome. I just want traditional kinds of rpgs...anyone have anything else?
