Uncharted

The Last of Us

Wolfenstein: The New Order

GTA5

MGS5

And then get Fallout 4 when that comes out.

That should keep you busy for a pretty long time - as in this time next year.

None, although I do love the Sledgehammer developed Call of Duty games.

(Old-School) Valve

(Old School) Nintendo

Hiroshi Iuchi - basically (Old School) Treasure

Hideo Kojima - basically (Old School) Konami

Sony are pretty frigging nailing it at the moment. Love their left-field offerings in the form of Gravity Rush (Team Gravity), Shadow of the Colossus (Team Ico), and The Last of Us (Naughty Dog). To be honest, I honestly do think that Sony have what it takes to become the new Nintendo - both in terms of software development talent as well as hardware that has captured the imagination of the public.

Uncharted Collection: Special Edition (PS4) popped through my letterbox the other day. Along with Puppeteer (PS3).

I have a PS4 and a Wii U. My brother has a XBone. Even though I don't touch the XBone as very little of the MS first party stuff appeals to me (as yet - although Halo 5 will most probably change that), I still think that the PS4 and XBone have what it takes to cater to the mass-market. Nintendo on the other hand have cornered themselves into a situation from which there is NO coming back as a mainstream gaming player. Not only in terms of brand awareness but also in terms of industry support and momentum, together with first party IP that (on the whole) doesn't resonate with gaming audiences. As an example, GTA5 has sold more copies than every game on the Wii U combined.

Anyway, I talked about some of Nintendo's problems, and got to gripe about them here: http://prankster101.com/columns/youtube-fan-conventions-what-next-for-the-backwards-nintendo/

2. Every game since has been an increasingly soulless retread.

I know of Platinum off-hand but have always considered them as being a developer whose games have been hit and miss with me. I didn't like Bayonetta but loved Bayonetta 2 and it's my favourite game by Platinum too. I liked MGR and bought Transformers: Devastation as a Day One purchase - partly because I love G1. Have to support Activision endeavours like these somehow, and I pray that there's a sequel. Also, and in case you want to ask, I got to interview the Director (Kenji Saito) of Transformers: Devastation. Check out my interview below:
