...oh and altough you don't have a direct command of your other party members during combat in Mass Effect, you still can change their gear, and make the choices after level up. In KOTOR II you have the same comands like in the first one. What I liked in both of them, is that all your teammates have charaters, personalities, own goals, and history that they might reveal during the game. Those guys from Bioware are really good at this.

Mass effect has a vast explorable univers, with some side quests, and goals that require quite some time to accomplish, but pretty meaningless, however, these are optional, the main story is pretty linear with a couple of choices that have real effect on the overall income. The main plot is fairly good, but less than I've anticipated. Despite that the dialogs and the voice acting is great. I liked KOTORs story a bit more, as I can recall. And while playing KOTOR, I had the felling that I'm a powerful Jedi wandering around the galaxy, whilst playing Mass Effect didn't brought me the same feeling. But this is just me. The result is same. Play'em both! :D

Yep, I was about to recomend Vampire The bloodlines as well. Though it's about Vampires, you can play with classes that are less human, like Nosferatus, that are really ugly, strong and always in the shadows, or the Malkavians, who are, the best way to put it, barking mad.

I wrote my reply even b4 saw your entry. I played both of them a while back, as I recall they have no connections what so ever, only some unimportant reference. Though I haven't played them in a while. It's good that you mentioned them. I might even do so.

Just as I said, KOTOR 2 is just as good. Almost the same thing, just a new story. And a great one I might add. Mass Effect is a bit different, but same in many aspects. It's an other reality, a new experience after Star Wars, but the RPG system is in many ways just like KOTOR's. Only it's a newer game with better graphics. Only it has an FPS like combat system, so it's real time. I like RPG to be role based, but that's just me. And it's not ruining at all. So both of these are musts, and should keep you busy for about 70 hours of playtime. And since you can be good, and bad in both of them, and they have open endings, you might even spend more time on these.

Now the guys are just telling you that you should try these games. But trust me, it's not should. You simply have to! These are all great games! And if you liked KOTOR, KOTOR 2 is just as good, if not better.

I've looked it up, and it turned out, that AMD dual core users had problems just like me, and this AMD optimizer really solves it. I've been playing the game for days now, and it runs acceptably on my machine. Just the way San Andreas used to on my old machine. So all I want to say is, that if you want to play GTA IV with an AMD processor, you'll need this optimizer thingy, you can found it on the official website. The radios in this game are just great! :D

Ram is a good thing, but doesn't necessarily solve every problem. Anyway, I think I've finally solved the problem. Since as far as I see the problem was with the communication between the core's, I've downloaded the AMD Dual-Core Optimizer from AMD's official site, and installed it. Played the game all night, and it run perfectly. But thanks for all the answers. By the way, the game's great! The whole pile of technical issues around it are quite awful, but it's rather worth it.

Now I'm no computer expert,so this might be normal, but I've just discovered an odd thing. When I play Gta both cpu cores are used and they diagrams in taskbar show that they usage history line is very similar if not identic. Now, when the game starts "lagging" the two diagrams are opposite. They show that when one is running at full capacity the other stops, than if the other starts working the first one's usage drops just as much as the others rise. Can it be, that at one moment the game confuses the bond between the cores or something?

Yeah, a few times. And when I alt-tabed back it was working again. But I've noticed that when the game is starting to "lag" the same thing happens to videos when I alt-tab. So if the game gets choppy, if I alt-tab and try to play a video it does the same thing. So I'm placing my bet on the memory leak as well. I hope they'll release a new patch with my problem fixed soon. I'm just trying reinstalling the game right now. But I doubt it'll make any difference.
