PC gaming: not a $3000 hobby

The gaming community doesn't seem to appreciate just how inexpensive pc gaming is in the long run. there is not game sold for over $50 on the pc unless it's a "special edition". Once you shell out the initial money for your pc, its life span is just as long as that of any console. Sure, you may have to play the latest and greatest games down the line at lower settings, but then, console graphics don't change until the console itself is replaced. If you truly like games, you don't need the latest shiniest water effects anyway. And while I'm on this, everyone needs a pc anyway. so you would probably spend $800-$90 on your pc. then you would go out and buy a console for another $250-$400. There, you have just spent more money on both your pc and console than you would have had you spent a little more on a better graphics card. I am certainly not here to say that pc gaming is better than console gaming. I believe that both have their own unique strengths that make them all a blast to play (especially in the case of the Wii.) I do, however, wish to try to open the eyes of people who do not play pc games and inform those peoples who are interested of the options available to them on the pc without necessitating a $2000 upgrade. Please leave your comments. I enjoy reading other peoples perspectives. Thank you.
